New Year, New Forms! As the calendar turns and a wonderful new year begins, we want to wish you all the very best for 2026! We are so excited to continue offering engaging programs, activities, and resources to help everyone start the year off right.
Important Intake Form Reminder
It's that time of year when we kindly ask everyone to ensure their membership information is up-to-date. This is a crucial step for us to provide you with the best possible service and maintain accurate records for the year ahead.
If you have NOT completed an Intake Form since January 1, 2025, you will need to complete one for 2026.
Action Needed: Please check with any center staff member at the front desk or during your next visit to determine if your membership is current. They can quickly let you know if you need to complete the form and provide you with one to fill out.
Why it Matters: Completing the form ensures we have your current contact information, current emergency contact, and to ensure enrollment in the Senior Nutrition program.
We are here to help you get this done quickly and easily! Let's start the new year together with all our records in order.

Reminders About Center Closures & Delays
When Winter Weather Occurs...
When inclement weather occurs or is forecasted to begin during normal hours of operation, out of an abundance of caution, the department reserves the right to close centers early and cancel programming (in-person and virtual) and the Senior Nutrition Program services.
When a closure occurs, the Office of Transportation will provide riders an early departure from the centers. Senior activity center staff will remain on site until every member has safely left the premises.
For updates, tune into a local radio or TV station. Announcements about Anne Arundel County senior activity center delays or closings due to inclement weather will be made through:
Visit the link below for the BGE Outage Report Page to check the status of power restoration or to report an outage. Outages can also be reported by calling 877-778-2222 or texting "OUT" to 69243
During the winter season, Anne Arundel County will make several County facilities available to community members for temporary relief in response to any prolonged cold temperatures.

The Longevity Ready Maryland (LRM) plan is Maryland's first comprehensive, 10-year multisector plan designed to coordinate services and policies to support the state's growing population of older adults. It was initiated by an Executive Order signed by Governor Wes Moore in early 2024.
The plan is a collaborative, long-term effort that aims to:
Consolidate resources and coordinate efforts across government agencies, businesses, and communities.
Transform systems of care to more sustainably accommodate the increasing number of older Marylanders.
Ensure all Marylanders can live lives that are healthy, financially secure, socially connected, and purposeful.
The LRM plan is structured around four main "Epic Goals":
Build a Longevity Ecosystem: Create supportive and inclusive communities for all ages and abilities and build collective capacity at the local level.
Promote Economic Opportunity: Support a multigenerational workforce with opportunities for all ages and abilities while advancing Maryland's economic competitiveness.
Prepare Marylanders to Afford Longevity: Improve economic security and affordability for the "100-year lifespan" through affordable housing, health care, financial literacy, and long-term support services.
Optimize Health, Wellness, and Mobility: Invest in programs that support healthier, more purposeful, and active lifestyles so Marylanders can enjoy longevity and reduce dependency.
The plan includes specific actions like launching a new statewide dementia navigation program, expanding access to home- and community-based services, and modernizing the state's information and referral network.
