Brain Science Luncheon Shares Expert Tips on Memory

Respite for All's 4th Annual Brain Science Luncheon was an amazing success, and we thank everyone who hosted a table, attended as a guest or served as a volunteer for coming out to support this important mission. We especially want to express our deep appreciation to the sponsors who made this event possible!

Our attendance grew by several hundred over last year, moving us to a larger space at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Montgomery. Nearly 1,000 guests joined us on October 9 to hear an inspiring message on different aspects of memory from Lisa Genova, #1 International and New York Times bestselling Author and Neuroscientist.

During the luncheon, Amy Scalise was announced as the inaugural recipient of the Inscoe Legacy of Love. This name honors the love and devotion Jim Inscoe has shown his dear wife, Elmore, since she received a diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease in 2014. You can learn more about Amy's devotion to her husband Benjie in this short video. Nominated by Anchor Community Respite at Asbury United Methodist Church, Amy received a gift of $1,000 to use for her own respite.
