HURRICANE RELIEF FOR JAMAICA

URGENT: PLEASE DONATE

The World Central Kitchen Relief Team is in Jamaica after Category 5 Hurricane Melissa made landfall. The storm brought destructive winds, torrential rain, widespread flooding, and has left dozens of people dead. The damage is so widespread that 60% of people in Jamaica are still without electricity. WCK is working with local partners to serve meals to families impacted by the storm.

The holidays are here!  Enjoy safe journeys and meaningful, loving family trips. Enjoy colorful events,  performances and celebrations locally and in New York City!

   Ripley-Grier Studios always has a super holiday party for our staff and their families.  It is the highlight of the year.  Catered food and drink, decorations, gifts, and special performances by our super talented energetic staff members.  At home we had Thanksgiving Dinner this year at  our son Shayne’s home in Long Beach. During the holidays we will also be celebrating two of our grandkids' birthdays: Brooklyn on Dec. 27th and Griffin on Jan. 4th. Then heading South to spend most of the winter in our home/office cottage in Key West.  We are “snowbirds” now.  

  During this time of year we encourage all our friends and family to take in Broadway shows,   stroll 5th Avenue and the surrounding area to enjoy the fantastic holiday decorations.  Don’t miss Rockefeller Center to see the skating rink and the amazing Tree.  Radio City Music Hall has an unique performance for the holidays (hopefully no exotic animals mercilessly paraded on stage).  Lots of movies and smaller theatre events as well as local festivities in hometowns will be abundant.  Wishing winter sports folks substantial snow for skiing and other winter activities. 

  Always a good time for clutter clearing and reinforcing fitness routines. I am reading an in depth article in the Wall Street Journal in the Off Duty section dated Sat/Sun. November 8th.  Called “Sell Your Clutter: A Lazy Downsizer’s Guide.  Take a look at it and not only clear clutter and free your space you can also make some handy cash. Decorating and upgrading interior spaces is a great way to use time indoors to improve your environment and your mood. Meditation practices and self care practices are great ways to stay in top shape for the winter.

   2025 was a big recovery year for our company and we are able to enjoy these holidays with a little less stress in regards to the future of Ripley-Grier Studios. We thank all our clients and staff for that effort and the positive results. 

  Speaking of Ripley-Grier Studios, Butch Grier and I got married in Key West on April 11, 2025. We dated for 42 years.  We have been married for 6 months.  In that same vein I have changed my name from Patricia Ripley to Patricia Ripley-Grier.  Just finished getting a new SS card in the local office in Key West (where we got married).  Looking forward to an amazing year.  Don’t forget the Winter Olympics are coming up in February from fabulous Milan.

  Make yourself a promise or a resolution to stay fit, climate concerned, politically involved, socially active and considerate to others. Commit to actions positive for your overall life fitness.

Hi everyone!

This past month I went to a few more concerts! At the end of October I saw Balu Brigada again. I had seen them open for Twenty One Pilots during their last tour and earlier this year when they played in Brooklyn. They put on a high energy show and I love seeing them in smaller venues compared to the arenas they played as openers.

At the beginning of November I saw Of Monsters and Men at Brooklyn Paramount and The Wombats at the same venue a week and a half later. It was my first time seeing both bands after being a fan of them for over 10 years! I loved them both and I’m excited to see them again. The venue itself is beautiful and I’ve gotten a great spot every time I’ve gone there no matter what time I arrive.

A week later I bought last minute tickets to see the Jonas Brothers on Long Island after they announced 5 Seconds of Summer would be a special guest at the show. I’ve seen the Jonas Brothers a few times over the course of 15 years, but I had never seen 5SOS - though I’ve wanted to for some time. 5SOS came on in the middle of the set and played 3 songs! I’m hoping to see them next year at MSG.
