HAPPPRIDE MONTH 2026

How lucky we are to work in an industry that celebrates authenticity, creativity, and community - and uses art to share those values with the world.

This month (and always), we celebrate the artists, storytellers, and collaborators who make live theatre possible. From the spotlight to backstage, every contribution matters, and every voice helps shape the stories we tell.

To all who bring their passion, talent, and heart to this art form: we applaud you.

See you at the studios.

Celebrating Black Voices on Broadway!

We're honored to support this year’s Broadway Celebrates Juneteenth - a free outdoor concert in Times Square celebrating Black artistry, unity, and community through live Broadway performances, music, dance, and spoken word.

Created by and featuring Black performers and allies, the event also includes the presentation of the annual Legacy Award, honoring esteemed Black artists for their extraordinary contributions to the arts (past recipients: Andre De Shields, Phylicia Rashad, Kenny Leon, Leslie Uggams, and Ben Vereen).

RG is proud to help make this event possible by providing rehearsal space for the artists and creative teams bringing it to life. Join the celebration - Visit BroadwayLeague.com

939 8th Ave: A Historic Home for Artists

There's a fresh energy at RG 939: upgraded studios, comfortable common areas, and improvements throughout the building. Whether you're auditioning, rehearsing, teaching, or creating, you'll notice enhancements designed to make your experience even better.

What makes 939 truly special is its history. Built in 1889 as the Van Dyck Studio Building, it was one of New York City's first buildings designed as combined living and workspaces for artists. Over the years, it has been home to notable creative figures including Norman Rockwell, and housed Joseph Pilates' original New York studio. More than a century later, it remains a vibrant creative home for Broadway performers, artists and teachers from all over the world.

Come experience what's new at RG 939 - and become part of its ongoing story. Read more about the history of RG939.

Hola, Beautiful June!  Summer is coming!

Long days, late sunsets, warm temps, & cool nights bring beautiful blossoms to trees and plants everywhere. Visit our beautiful lively parks, so fresh and welcoming!

Get out and enjoy these blessings. The snows and rains this Winter/Spring gifted the trees and plants boosting them to sprout and flower!

Sports events (Go Knicks!) Soccer season, golf tournaments, running, hiking, biking & yes…swimming/surfing & playing in the ocean are on the horizon.

It’s the best time to increase and update your fitness routine. Get outside & participate in physically energetic activities.  Eat mindfully, review your daily diet; be kind to yourself with small but mindful changes to your eating habits in smart, positive, healthy ways.   Self-educate, design an easy to follow nutritional path planning your meals and drinks.

Spring entertainment is blossoming as well. So many plays, concerts, shows and events this Spring.  Also the TV season is winding down and we have lost some favorite shows for more than just the summer.

Politically we are a mess.  It’s disappointing to see movement backward. not forward.  It’s shameful to see the lack of social progress in our health care, home ownership and financial security.  Insiders are making lots of money, but most folks are struggling to keep their worth; finding themselves in a state of limbo & low expectations.

Spring cleaning & clutter clearing rules the season!  We did a top to bottom house cleaning of our home two weeks ago.  I worked with a cleaning pro for 8 hours one day  & began a 5 month project including sorting, selling, donating, tossing, or storing: clothing, collectibles and “stuff “; a summer project to create a more welcoming place to live with fewer “belongings”. The result is clearing away old negative (or just low) energy spaces that interfere with our current lives and future aspirations.

June is a time to plant fresh veggies and nurture lovely gardens. We will have tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, and herbs like rosemary, basil, cilantro, green onions and lavender.  We have a couple of annual strawberry plants bearing fruit.  Visiting our local nursery I brought back marigolds, pansies, along with our favorite red & pink geraniums. These flowers, plants along with our  palm trees and hanging vines give our house a colorful, lively look and creates a peaceful garden aura.

Happy Spring & Summer,  See you at the Studios, Patricia

Hi everyone!

I didn’t go to any concerts this past month, but I did manage to see Every Brilliant Thing one more time before Daniel Radcliffe’s last performance! I was happy to see it again so I could experience different audience members being involved in the show. The show inspired me to make my own list of every brilliant thing!

I spent much of my time at the beginning of the month planning to go on a 9 day trip to Southern California for my friend’s wedding, where I was honored to be one of her bridesmaids. It was my first time as a bridesmaid and I had so much fun being evolved in the wedding party! The reception was great and they had a photo booth that we spent a lot of time at. Congratulations Rayleene and Lance!

See you next month, Jeannie
