HAPPY NEW YEAR ~ 2026

Welcome back to the studios - and to a New Year of possibility. Our spaces are alive with music, movement, and imagination, and we’re glad you’re here.

The New York arts community is built on resilience - and so is RG. Artists return again and again to act, sing, dance, rehearse, teach, and create - not because it’s easy, but because it’s necessary.

We’re committed to offering a safe space to breathe, take risks, and make work that matters. We believe art is essential - because it challenges, connects, and moves the world forward.

We’re here for you, holding space for the work you do for the love of it. For the love of art. For the love of community. For the love of what’s possible.

See you at the studios.

Graham McCarty ~ RG Creative Director

Happy New Year!   2026 In Chinese astrology (starts in February) it will be the year of the Horse. (Until then we are experiencing the year of the horse's ass).  We have experienced shocking events from the invasion of Venezuela, to the Ice raids in multiple cities and the horror/tragedy in Minneapolis. Do your best to relieve the angst, as ” this too shall pass”.

BroadwayCon is the weekend of 1/23,24 & 25!  A great time is had for all!  Meet RG there! (Check announcements for info in this newsletter and on our social media posts!)

We recently welcomed J-Lo & Cher, so cool. They always bring good vibes to our spaces.

Here are some basic Health, Beauty & Fitness tips to maintain your overall fitness and lower your medical expenses now and for the future “best” years of your life. Invest money and effort now to avoid future expensive health issues.  You will never regret doing so..

If you wear makeup, remove nightly (use a make up remover cloth or wipe). Don’t use soap on your skin, use an organic cleanser.  Don’t use hot water on your skin, lukewarm is best.  Rinse with cool water after cleansing, then moisturize.  Invest in high quality products now it will pay off.  Use of high spf sunscreen in the summer and when doing winter sports, prevents your skin from wrinkling (and worse) as you get older.  Fewer visits to the dermatologist$$. But do get 10 to 20 minutes of direct sun on your skin in the winter to increase reserves of Vitamin D. Positive activity:  Every am & pm face your mirror, smile your widest, exaggerating facial movement, and say “YES” loudly 3 times, (reverses frown lines & a great motivational action).

Shower once a week (touch up cleansing daily). Saves water usage.  Don’t use soap. When participating in sweaty activities, sports or dance, rinse off, pat dry and moisturize to lock in moisture. A loofah scrub once a month sheds dead skin cells. Wear clothes that let your skin breathe. Avoid clothes made with dead animal skins/fur, It's a downer/ not good karma.

Keeping your teeth (truly) is adamant to avoid lifelong expensive trips to the dentist$$. Before going to bed, floss or use floss sticks, use a water pic (invest in a good one) and brush your gums to prevent gum disease. Gently rinse your mouth during the day, flush food debris..

Brush your hair every evening and morning 30 seconds to rid your scalp of dead skin cells and hairs for better circulation and more shine. Clean your brush once a week and remove hairs from your brush with a comb daily. Clip dead/split ends every two months.

Create a basic quick but constant personal fitness routine daily. Stretch in bed for 5 minutes. Then do a 5/10 minute yoga or dance stretch before dressing, (purchase a yoga mat)  Add a basic inverted posture daily to wake up your organs.  Walk at least 1 mile per day (use a counter). Exercise mindfully at least 20 minutes every other day. Vary routines:  include core, leg, arms. Do dance or sports moves and stretching, add a resistance or weights segment..

Don't drink soda/soft drinks or processed juices (only fresh squeezed). Limit milk products (creates flem).  Limit your sugar intake in general (saves your teeth, bones & keeps the lbs off.)  Eat mindfully, introduce/keep more veggies and fruits in your diet.  Maintaining a healthy weight will save thousands $$ as you move through your career and life.  Do not smoke tobacco or drink heavily to prevent heart, lung and liver problems & keep the wrinkles away$$. Sleep well.

Participate in life affirming activities and stay away from negative vibes and people.

Have a “wonder”filled year!   Better & Better, Sincerely, Patricia Ripley

Happy New Year!! I hope this is your best year yet!

I went to a couple concerts and one show to end 2025. I saw Arlo Parks at an intimate show in Brooklyn where she showcased some new music. I haven’t been to many shows where the set includes so much new music, but it’s nice to be able to hear the artist sing without people singing along every once in a while. I got a limited signed and numbered vinyl that I’m excited to play!

A few days later I went to the small bar called Baker Falls to see 4 bands - Blanket Approval, Onesie, Dinowalrus, and Warpark. I hadn’t seen any of the bands before and I only knew Blanket Approval, but I had a blast during every shared set. The members of the bands would hang out after their sets and I got a setlist from all 4 of them! A small group of us that already knew each other hung out for hours after the show with a few of the members of Blanket Approval and I loved talking with them!

The last show that I saw in 2025 was This World of Tomorrow starring Tom Hanks and Kelli O’Hara. It’s a play about a man that repeatedly travels back in time to meet the woman he’s fallen in love with. It was a drama, romance, and had some funny parts mixed in as well. It was so cool seeing them act together on stage!

See you in March - Jeannie Ripley-Grier
