Over the past 10 years, slip/fall claims involving snow and/or ice have cost members, and our insurers, $1.6 million. The mean value of these claims is approximately $18,000. Members also experience property damage claims related to winter weather, such as water damage from sprinkler systems that have frozen and burst, or damage from winter storms. Each of these property damage claims cost, on average, $100,000.
