Good Afternoon,
I have some updates to share with everyone regarding the exercise (warm) pool at the Rock Hill Aquatics
Center.
1) As you are aware, last week the heater in our exercise pool had a thermostat malfunction that caused it to stop functioning properly. It was determined that the existing unit cannot be fixed and a new unit is needed. We have located a new unit and are expecting it to be delivered in a day or two which means installation should be complete by the end of the week and we can start heating the water back to its normal temperature. Re-heating the water to a comfortable temperature will take a few days and you can expect the temperature to remain cooler than the usual 87 degrees until at least the middle of next week.
2) The current temperature of the exercise pool is 79 degrees.
- The pool is open but, at this time no water aerobics classes or swim lessons are taking place.
- If you have signed up for swimming lessons at RHAC for September: Our swim lessons will not start tomorrow September 7th as originally planned. Pending no surprises with the new heater installation, lessons will start Wednesday, September 14th and you will receive a credit for one week’s worth of lessons.
3) The lap (cold) pool is still open for use.
Thank you,
