Novel Coronavirus : COVID-19 Update
Today, the President declared a National Emergency to release federal resources to combat the Coronavirus (COVID-19).  The City is continuing to actively monitor the situation.  The health and safety of our community is of utmost importance. As with any potential threat, it is important to remain calm, read information from trusted sources like the Centers for Disease and Control Prevention (CDC) and Los Angeles County Public Health Department , and take precautionary measures to prepare yourself and your family.

To date, Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has reported 40 cases in Los Angeles County; six are likely due to community transmission. Public Health is investigating these cases and will notify persons who may have had close personal contact with these individuals, including any friends, family members or health care professionals, to assess and monitor them for signs and symptoms of illness. All confirmed cases are being isolated and close contacts are quarantined.
Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District has advised that there is one report of a parent of students at Silver Spur Elementary and Valmonte Early Learning Academy that tested positive for COVID-19. This has not yet been confirmed by LA Co Dept of Public Health or the CDC.
