April is already here, term 3 is finished and we’re about to head off to Spring Break. Since we will not have a newsletter next week (to allow our News team time to enjoy Spring Break with their families), I wanted to update you on a few things happening with the PTSA.

Our next General Membership Meeting on Wednesday, April 30 at 6pm in the RHS Library and we would love you to join us. We have a lot of business to cover at that meeting, including voting in our 2025-2026 PTSA Board of Directors. We’d love to see as many members there as possible.

Talking about elections - we are still looking for some great people to join our board for next year. We are currently seeking dedicated individuals for key roles such as VP Communications, VP Volunteers, Membership Chair and Reflections Chair. Your involvement will not only enrich the lives of our students but also strengthen the bonds within our community. Join us and be a part of something truly special!

We also have a couple of programs going on right now that have a deadline right after Spring Break. Our Senior Scholarship applications are due on April 22. Remind your senior that the extra time over the break is a great time to get the application finished. Also, our hanging basket fundraiser orders are due by April 23. Baskets will be delivered on May 3 so they would make a great Mother's Day gift.

Whether you are staying close to home or travelling to faraway places, I hope you have a fantastic Spring Break.

Let’s hear it for our volunteers! Volunteers, you are the heartbeat of our PTSA organization, so we’re celebrating you all April long! 

Global Volunteer Month is a time to celebrate volunteers - people working to support communities and drive transformation. It's an opportunity to recognize and thank volunteers who lend their time, talent, voice and support to causes they care about.

We know that every act of service builds a stronger community. PTSA Board Members, Chairpersons, Committee Members, and individual Event Volunteers, your efforts embody the spirit of what it means to really be the change you wish to see in the world. Thank you so much for your selfless and ongoing volunteerism.

Redmond High School PTSA Scholarships

The Redmond High School PTSA is thrilled to announce six scholarships worth $1,000 each for deserving class of 2025 graduates. Selection is based on various criteria, such as involvement in extracurricular and community service activities, academic excellence, motivation, future goals, as well as any unique life challenges.

To apply, candidates must complete the scholarship form, respond to short answer and essay questions, provide a copy of their high school transcript, and submit two letters of recommendation, with at least one coming from an RHS faculty member.

The application deadline is Tuesday, April 22. Submit complete applications to scholarships@redmondhsptsa.org.

Grad Night Celebration is a safe, drug and alcohol-free, all-night event held the night of Graduation.



Graduates will enjoy a night of fun-filled activities, lots of food, and the opportunity to be with all their friends on one of the most memorable days of their lives!

Volunteers Needed for PTSA Award Committee

We are looking for PTSA members who would like to promote, review, and select recipients for RHS PTSA awards. This appointed committee will help to recognize our outstanding volunteers, staff, and students who have played an integral part in our success throughout this school year. This volunteer position does not have a huge time commitment and includes reviewing nominations for awards and meeting once or twice to discuss and select award recipients.

Opportunity for Student Volunteer Hours at Wilder Elementary

For those interested in earning some extra volunteer hours, please consider volunteering at Wilder Elementary on Friday, April 25, from 4-7pm to help weed and beautify our garden beds! Bring your gardening gloves and any tools, to help with this fun project! There will be pizza, snacks, drinks and dessert provided!

Drama Boosters Scholarship Applications

Every year the RHS Drama Boosters awards scholarships to seniors who have demonstrated outstanding drama citizenship during their high school career. The scholarship application for the seniors is available now - applications are due Friday, April 11. Scholarship winners will be announced at the Drama Banquet.

Who can apply? Graduating seniors who have been a part of the RHS Drama Department in any capacity in any year!

Redmond High School Choir Boosters offer scholarships for graduating seniors to help fund their post-secondary education. Prizes range between $250 - $500. The committee considers students contribution in the areas of leadership, inspiration to others, involvement in choir related activities, and their contribution to the improvement of the RHS choir program. If you are, or know, a graduating senior who qualifies for this scholarship, we encourage you/them to apply.

Application deadline is Thursday, April 24!

2. Register to earn CTE Dual Credit while in the high school class: https://www.ctesers.org/

→ Registration is open December 1 through June 15 each school year

3. Pay a $50 consortium fee (online at PNWcollegecredit.org/pay)

→ one fee per student per year covers all your classes taken this school year

→ non-refundable

→ fee waivers available to those in need

4. Earn a grade of “B” or higher in the class
