Whether you're planning to catch up on some reading, hang out with friends, travel with your family, or simply relax at home, we hope you find joy and rest during this break. Remember to take care of yourselves and come back refreshed and ready for the new year.

To Our Families: Your support and involvement in our school community are invaluable. We appreciate all the time and effort you put into making our school a better place. We hope this break provides you with the opportunity to create lasting memories with your loved ones and enjoy some well-deserved downtime.

To Our Staff: Thank you for your dedication and hard work in nurturing and educating our students. Your commitment does not go unnoticed, and we are grateful for all that you do. We hope you take this time to relax, rejuvenate, and spend time with your families and friends.

As we look forward to the new year, let's carry the spirit of togetherness and community with us. We are excited about the opportunities and experiences that await us in the coming months.

The RHS PTSA is proud to announce the “Gowns Going Green” initiative to help keep RHS graduation gowns out of landfills and help them get reused and repurposed! The PTSA will pilot the program this year to determine interest and feasibility and we hope you will help us make it a success!

GIVE A GOWN:

Parents of past seniors, do you have graduation gowns from 2021 and onwards that can be used for current and possibly future RHS seniors? Help us collect graduation gowns from your students. It’s easy to donate! Simply drop them off at school.

  • Drop-off days: Wednesday, Dec. 18, 8:00am thru Friday, Dec. 20, 3:30pm.
  • Drop-off location: RHS Main Office. There will be signage.
  • Gowns must have been purchased for or after Class of 2021.
  • Gowns must be clean and reusable.
  • If possible, please indicate height and weight of the student who wore the gown with a note taped or safety-pinned to the gown.
  • All gown donations are FINAL and gowns will not be returned.

GET A GOWN:

Would you like to be environmentally-friendly and reuse a gown that would otherwise be tossed away? The PTSA will sort the donations and you and/or your senior will be able to look through the gowns after Winter Break.

  • Pick-up day/time: Wednesday, January 8, 1:50pm-4:00pm (subject to change).
  • Pick-up location: RHS Cafeteria or Library (subject to change).
  • Seniors will STILL need to buy caps, tassels, and other accessories.
  • Gown pick-up is on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Size availability is not guaranteed.
  • A suggested donation of $10 for each picked-up gown will go towards the RHS PTSA Grad Night Celebration (not required).
  • If you are unable to find a pre-owned gown, the deadline for NEW gown ordering is Wednesday, January 15, 2025 done using the instructions provided by the school.

Making Spirits Bright

On Monday, December 9, members of the Hospitality and Staff Appreciation Team wrapped up our PTSA Staff Appreciation activities for 2024. Treat filled “jarcuterie” gifts were delivered for all staff members with thanks and appreciation for their contributions in making RHS merry and bright. We wish all RHS staff members a wonderful Winter Break and a very Happy New Year!

Also, thank you to our RHS PTSA members and community for donations and continued support for our staff appreciation activities and events. Your generosity allows us to spread cheer throughout the school year.

Did you contribute yet?

RHS PTSA raises fund through Pass the Hat where we reach out to all RHS families. Suggested contribution is $100 per student but no amount is too big or too small. If you have not contributed for the year, please consider donating today! We appreciate your contribution!

PASS THE HAT DONATION

Does your employer match donations?

As the year comes to an end, we want to remind you about corporate matching. Many companies will match their employees' charitable contributions, effectively doubling the impact of each donation. Microsoft, Google, Boeing, Starbucks are a few that do match.

Thank you if you already donated to RHS PTSA this school year. Your donations help enhance the educational experience of our students.
