As we approach the Thanksgiving break, I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for our wonderful RHS community. This time of year is perfect for reflecting on the many things we are thankful for, and I am incredibly grateful for the support and involvement of our students, families, teachers, and staff.

During this break, I encourage everyone to take the opportunity to relax, recharge, and spend quality time with loved ones. Our school community is wonderfully diverse, and we are proud to celebrate the many cultures and traditions that make us unique. Let's take a moment to appreciate and respect the different backgrounds and perspectives that enrich our school. Together, we create a more inclusive, understanding, and safe environment for all.

As always, the RHS PTSA is here to support our students and families. If you have any questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out. As a heads-up, unless there is any breaking news that we need to share next week, we will not have a newsletter on December 1. We want to allow our news team who bring you this content to have the holiday weekend off to spend with their families. 

Whether you're traveling or staying home, celebrating Thanksgiving or not, I hope you find joy and peace during this time away from school and work. Wishing you all a happy and safe Thanksgiving break!

Thank you all for your generosity in supporting our staff with this year’s Soup-er Thankful Lunch. Last week didn’t work out but we have rescheduled the lunch for Monday, November 25.

For those of you that have already signed up, if for some reason Monday no longer works or if you have any questions, please update your sign up or just send us an email at hospitality@redmondhsptsa.org.

Thank you to everyone that ordered poinsettias and wreaths from our fundraiser. Pick up will be on Friday, December 6 from 2:30-4:30pm. Please stop by the RHS Cafeteria to collect your beautiful plants and wreaths.

Help Shape Next Year's PTSA by Being in Nom Comm!

RHS PTSA is forming this year's Nominating Committee and we need 3 people to serve on this very important committee. The role of the nominating committee member is to help find the most qualified people to serve on next year's PTSA Board. The committee is made up of 3 current PTSA members who will be selected to the the committee by the general membership at our General Membership meeting on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. The Committee will present a slate of Board candidates for election at our General Membership meeting on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 so this is a great short-term volunteer position for anyone that would like to get involved with the PTSA. Time commitment is based on how the committee structures itself and most of it will be comprised of email or phone communication with potential board candidates.

Effective candidates for Nom Com should be familiar with the needs and goals of the PTSA, possess tact, discretion, and understand confidentiality, and demonstrate sound judgment in evaluating potential nominees for a Board position. Training and templates will be provided.

Support the LWSD Toy Drive

This holiday season let's come together to spread joy and make a difference by supporting the Lake Washington School District Winter Toy Drive. Your donation of a new, unwrapped toy will make this season a little more special for children across our district.

The Winter Toy Drive runs from now until Tuesday, December 10, and toys and gifts are needed for children and teens ages 5–18. Let's ensure that every child in our community experiences the magic of the holidays.
