PTSA NEWS

Welcome to the 2024-2025 School Year!

Welcome back to another exciting school year at RHS! As the interim PTSA President and on behalf of our Board, I am thrilled to extend a warm welcome to all our returning families and a special greeting to those joining us for the first time.

The start of a new school year is always filled with anticipation and promise. Our dedicated teachers and staff have been working tirelessly to prepare for the arrival of our students, ensuring that they have a safe, supportive, and enriching environment to learn and grow.

The PTSA is committed to its mission of supporting connections between home, school, and community and to enrich the learning environment for students, staff, and families. This year, we have many exciting events and initiatives planned, and we encourage you to get involved. Whether it’s through volunteering, attending PTSA meetings, participating in school events, or showing your support by becoming a PTSA member, your involvement is crucial to the success of our school community. We will keep you informed via a weekly newsletter on PTSA and school activities, holding five General Membership meetings (the first one is on Wednesday, October 16 at 6pm in the RHS Library – mark your calendars!), and advertising ways everyone can get involved in support of our mission. Together, we can make a significant impact on our students’ educational experiences.

We understand that the transition back to school can be both exciting and challenging. Please know that the PTSA is here to support you and your students every step of the way. If you have any questions, concerns, or ideas, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We value your input and look forward to working together to make this school year the best one yet.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication to our school. Let’s make this year a memorable and successful one for all our students!

Warm regards,

Branda Andrade

Calling all Mustang Artists!

The Reflections Program is a National PTA cultural arts competition. Students use their creative talents to express themselves through an original work of art in response to a theme.

The theme for this year's program is “Accepting Imperfection". Art work can be expressed in one or more of the following categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, and Visual Arts. Visit our Reflections page for more information.

Now is the time to start working on this year's Reflection art work. We cannot wait to see your creations!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

PTSA Volunteer Opportunities

Are you interested in getting more involved and help improve our school community? We have several key PTSA positions open that we would like you to consider:

  • President – The role of a president may seem huge but if you like being a leader, this may be the role for you. There is training to learn the official PTSA stuff and lots of other board members who will be there for support and guidance. The president position can also be filled with 2 people as Co-Presidents.

  • Membership Chair - The Membership Chair will lead membership recruitment efforts to families and RHS staff. The chair will maintain up-to-date member records using approved software to ensure that RHS PTSA membership is in sync with the state membership roster.

  • VP Family and Community Engagement – This is a board position where you can have big impact! The VP will work with Board and the school administration to provide educational and informational events/speakers for the school community on issues that are of concern or of importance to our school community. This VP will also oversee the annual Arts Fair event.

We would love to work with you! If you would like more information about any of these positions, please email volunteers@redmondhsptsa.org.

RHS Homecoming Dance

Disco ball - homecoming signup

The Associated Student Body (ASB) has been working hard on planning for the Homecoming Dance, set for Saturday, September 28. It seems like a long time away, but it will come sooner than you think, so please sign up as soon you can.

Your help is needed for checking-in coats, handing out refreshments, and taking pictures of the fabulous RHS students. Let's help out the ASB and make it special for all the kids!

We've split the event into multiple volunteer shifts, so sign up for one shift or do multiple and stay the whole night. We appreciate your help any way you can!
