RHS's 2019 National Merit Scholar Semifinalists
Congratulations to Robinson High School's six 2019 National Merit Scholar Semifinalists!
Our Semifinalists are pictured above (with Mr. Bhoolai, Mrs. George and Mr. Johnson) from left to right: Jonah Chad, Anders Johnson, Catherine Liu, Carly Long, Annika Holstrom, and Vanessa Fermin.
Over 1.6 million juniors in about 22,000 high schools entered the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program when they sat for the 2017 PSAT, which served as an initial screen of program entrants. The nationwide pool of Semifinalists, representing
less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors
, includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state. The number of Semifinalists in a state is proportional to the state's percentage of the national total of graduating seniors. Each of our students will now complete an application process in an effort to be selected into the Finalist level announced in February. All National Merit Scholarship winners will then be selected from this group of Finalists.
Congratulations students and families, this is a HUGE accomplishment!
