RHS's 2019 National Merit Scholar Semifinalists

Congratulations to Robinson High School's six 2019 National Merit Scholar Semifinalists!  Our Semifinalists are pictured above (with Mr. Bhoolai, Mrs. George and Mr. Johnson) from left to right: Jonah Chad, Anders Johnson, Catherine Liu, Carly Long, Annika Holstrom, and Vanessa Fermin.

Over 1.6 million juniors in about 22,000 high schools entered the 2019 National Merit Scholarship Program when they sat for the 2017 PSAT, which served as an initial screen of program entrants.  The nationwide pool of Semifinalists, representing  less than one percent of U.S. high school seniors , includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state.  The number of Semifinalists in a state is proportional to the state's percentage of the national total of graduating seniors.  Each of our students will now complete an application process in an effort to be selected into the Finalist level announced in February.  All National Merit Scholarship winners will then be selected from this group of Finalists.

Congratulations students and families, this is a HUGE accomplishment!

Prospective Student Open House
& Student Shadowing Opportunities

Robinson High School IB's Prospective Student Open House will be held on Thursday, November 8th beginning at 6:00 p.m. All students interested in learning more about the IB program at Robinson High School and their families are invited to attend.

We would also like to invite any interested 8th grade students to come visit our campus and feel like a Knight for a day! Shadowing opportunities are available on six specific dates beginning October 22nd through February 4th. Students many reserve a spot for a day that works best for their schedule by registering here: Shadow at Robinson IB.

Students registered to shadow are to report on their date to RHS by 9am. They will take part in a short presentation by some of the IB Faculty and students in the auditorium and will then pair up with a current IB student to experience a day in the IB World! Students will need to be picked up at 1:15pm on Mondays, or 2pm on Tuesdays-Fridays, where they will receive a letter to take back to their school proving their attendance for the day. Lunch can be brought from home or purchased from our school's nutrition service for $2.75.  Students may want to bring a notepad and paper so they can write down important info or questions they have along the way.  We're looking forward to meeting you!

Please spread the word to families that are interested in exploring RHS IB about our Open House date and Student Shadowing opportunities.  Our  RobinsonHighIB.com   website has all the information listed above and much more under Applying To RHS IB/Application Process.
