Seniors - Important Reminder!

October 1st is the deadline  to enter any college to which you are considering applying into your Naviance Student  "Colleges I'm Applying To" list.  This will ensure that your high school transcripts are available to those colleges when you complete your applications. 

Mrs. George will be holding college application sessions for Seniors  every  lunch period through Oct. 1st in the Guidance Conference room/IB office. 
FAFSA Completion Night
 
Wednesday, October 3rd
6:00-8:00 p.m.
Media Center

FAFSA is the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. The 2018 application period opens October 1st. RHS Student Services Department and The Cube will host a FAFSA Completion Night on Wed., Oct. 3rd, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Media Center. Financial Aid Officers from area universities will be on hand to assist in completion and help answer questions about the application. FAFSA applications can be securely filled out using the Media Center computers or through use of your own laptop. 

Seniors and their parents are encouraged to attend. The Cube will provide pizza and beverages and host a raffle drawing for attendees.

IB Coffee Talk: Meet Mr. Johnson 
  October 8 

Please join us in welcoming Mr. Johnson to Robinson IB.  A Coffee Talk will be held on Monday, October 8 at 6:00 p.m. (location to be announced) and is open to all IB parents and students. This informal Coffee Talk is an opportunity to meet him and share in an interactive discussion about the IB progam at Robinson. 

Mr. Matthew Johnson joined Robinson High School as the Assistant Principal for Magnet Curriculum at Robinson High School on August 24.  After being raised as a student through Hillsborough County Schools, Mr. Johnson began teaching History and AVID at Durant and Brandon High School in 2006.  He then started The Collegiate Academy at Armwood High School as the Lead Teacher in 2013, and moved into the Assistant Principal for Student Affairs position in 2016.  Mr. Johnson earned his Bachelor's in Social Science Education from the University of South Florida, and his Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of West Florida. 
Junior IB Pinning Ceremony
October 25
 
The  IB Junior Pinning Ceremony will take place on  Thursday, October 25th,  at 6:30 p.m. in the RHS auditorium.  At 6:10 p.m., a group photo  of our IB Juniors will be taken, Juniors please arrive ahead of time.  Parents and other family members are encouraged to attend this event. This special rite of passage for our juniors marks their official transition into the diploma-seeking program. 

Juniors are asked to dress professionally. Students with questions about appropriate attire may consult Mr. Hoover or Mrs. George in the IB office. 
 

Hillsborough County Public School District's referendum on the November 6th voting ballot  will help to provide our schools with funding for various building improvements and  upgrades on campuses, and provide funds for new construction to address  overcrowding issues in many schools. 

Robinson High School's noted projects on the school district's list are -

Years 1 to 5: Air Conditioning Replacement or Overhaul, Fire Evacuation Improvements, Outdoor Court Replacement, Replace Public Address System, School Exterior Painting and Waterproofing Project,  School Interior Repainting Project
Years 6 to 10: Replace Fire Alarm System

RIBLI Support for Students
RIBLI provides financial support for students in need of assistance to purchase school books or supplies, to pay fees, or obtain necessary equipment to participate in sports and other extracurricular activities, or to complete summer assignments.
