There's so much good news to share about our student-athletes at the close of the spring season.
We begin our overview with Ramapo. The Ramapo Boys Baseball Team finished their season with an impressive 22-12-1 overall record and a 7-1-1 mark to win the Big North - Freedom League. Coached by Mike Esposito and Garrison Ward, the Raiders made a deep run to the Bergen County Tournament Final and competed in the NJSIAA North Jersey Section 1, Group 3 Final.
The Ramapo Boys Volleyball Team finished a highly successful 2025-2026 season with an overall record of 20-7. Coached by David Van Hook, the Raiders made their first-ever appearance in the sectional finals, finishing as the North Group 2 runners-up. The team also advanced to the Bergen County tournament finals, where they fell to the #1 seed Bergen Catholic.
The Girls Track Team completed another spectacular season, finishing as the North 1, Group 3 State Champions. This marks the second consecutive State Championship for the Girls Track team.
Spring 2026 was another standout season for Indian Hills Athletics, marked by championships, postseason success, school records, and exceptional individual performances across nearly every program.
The Softball Team continued its tradition of excellence, winning the NJSIAA North Jersey Section 1, Group 1 Championship and advancing to the Group 1 State Semifinals. The Braves also extended their remarkable streak to 31 consecutive winning seasons. The Baseball Team again qualified for both the Bergen County and NJSIAA State Tournaments, overcoming injuries while upholding the program’s high standards.
The Boys Tennis Team delivered one of its strongest seasons in years, reaching the NJSIAA Sectional Semifinals and earning a signature upset over previously unbeaten Kittatinny (14‑0). Boys Golf added to the excitement by capturing the NJSIAA North Jersey Section 1, Group 1 Championship, one of the most significant achievements in program history. The Girls Golf Team continued to progress, demonstrating commitment and steady growth.
Girls Lacrosse, led by first‑year head coach and IH alumna Leanna Rubinetti, earned its first league title since 2019 and qualified for postseason play. Boys' Lacrosse built momentum behind junior Michael Snudden, who broke seven school records during an outstanding season.
Girls Flag Football quickly became one of the spring’s most exciting teams, winning a league championship and hosting a state playoff game—further highlighting the rise of one of New Jersey’s fastest‑growing sports. Boys Volleyball also showed strong development under a new coaching staff, competing with energy and pride.
Track & Field enjoyed one of its best seasons in recent memory. Ethan Gray (1600m), Frank Coppa (3200m), and Juliana Paavola (Long Jump) won Big North Patriot titles. Coppa added county and sectional championships and earned state medals, while Paavola finished as the Group 1 State Runner‑Up and qualified for the Meet of Champions. Additional standouts included Chris Vigeant, Bryce Roberts, Lukas Kertesz, Luke Traficante, Kaeden Krafft, Erin Han, Jane Coppa, Naiovi Arredondo, Ella Romanzo, Alexa Silverstein, and Zafina Ajka. The boys' 4x800 relay won a county title, and the girls' 4x100 earned All‑Sectional honors with the second‑fastest time in school history.
Several coaches were also honored: Dave Stahl (Boys Golf), Danielle McCartan (Girls Flag Football), Jim Dunbar (Boys Tennis), and Joe Leicht (Softball) all earned Coach of the Year recognition.
