We congratulate our dedicated students who have exemplified determination and discipline in their studies and commitment to community.

Our athletes continue to shine on the track and field and we honor their amazing achievements. The spring sports season promises to be one of intense competition and a source of pride for all.

Celebrating the Class of 2026: Honoring Our Top Scholars

We are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding achievements of the Valedictorians and Salutatorians from Indian Hills and Ramapo High Schools.

Gavin Hicks, Valedictorian of Indian Hills, has set a standard of excellence as a varsity lacrosse leader and founder of the Computer Science Club. His dedication to service shines through his mentorship of underprivileged youth at Oasis. Joining him is Indian Hills Salutatorian Jay Wang, a dedicated EMT and Student Council Treasurer. A standout in the Physics League and HOSA, Jay has balanced a rigorous pre-med track with a passion for basketball, volleyball, and tennis.

At Ramapo High School, we proudly recognize Sean O’Neill as Valedictorian for his remarkable academic tenure and humble leadership. An AP Scholar and multi-sport varsity athlete in wrestling and volleyball, Sean has spent years giving back to the community as a catechist at St. Elizabeth Church and a volunteer at Camp Sunshine. Alongside him is Salutatorian James Fitzmaurice, a National High School All-American and captain of the varsity soccer team. James has paired his rigorous academic workload with a heart for service, advocating for the Tuberous Sclerosis Complex Alliance and mentoring children through TOPSoccer.

These four young men exemplify the very best of our district, blending intellectual curiosity with a profound commitment to athletics and community service. We congratulate Gavin, Jay, Sean, and James on their well-earned distinctions and eagerly anticipate the incredible contributions they will continue to make in the fields of technology, medicine, and beyond.

Our Remarkable Unsung Heroes

The Unsung Hero recognition is a distinct honor of the students who represent enduring excellence that defines the spirit of our schools. These students emulate quiet, leadership that comes from the heart and lends strength to the district. We congratulate our unsung heroes for 2026.

Hannah Savino is a compassionate leader who exudes a quiet confidence and ensures that every member of her community is treated with kindness.

Hannah’s selfless approach to leadership and her abilty to foster genuine connections make her a vital part of the

Indian Hills High School family.

Maddie Saxton demonstrates resilient student-leadership who balances a disciplined academic focus with a heart for service and inclusivity.

Maddie’s commitment to challenging herself and supporting those around her has made her a cornerstone of character and leadership within the Ramapo community.

Record-Setting Ramapo Track & Field

It was a historic weekend for Ramapo Track and Field at the Nike NSAF Indoor Nationals, where our athletes rewrote the record books. Leading the charge, the championship 4x400 relay team of Sandra Vitolo, Kyra Magerko, Julia Mattioli, and Sofia DeVincentis clocked a blistering 3:53.83. Their 5th-place finish in the seeded heat earned them prestigious All-American honors while shattering both the school and Bergen County records.

March Madness Meets Wellness

Throughout the month of March, the Student Assistance Counselors at Ramapo High School hosted a series of engaging, mindfulness-based activities in the cafeteria as part of “March Madness: Mindset is Your MVP.” These events provided students with hands-on opportunities to build coping skills, reduce stress, and strengthen a growth mindset. You can learn more and see additional photos from the activities at the district website.

You can stay up-to-date with the latest sports schedules.
