A Message from the Superintendent

Dear Ramapo Indian Hills Families,

We are in the home stretch, or at least it might feel like that. Our students are continuing to make us proud with their academic prowess and athletic excellence alike.

Our district is preparing for another round of state assessments, we've included important information on that in this issue once more to keep it front of mind for you. We are confident that this round of testing will go smoothly and provide key data for us as we assess our students' performance.

There's much to celebrate as we move forward into these next two months. Keep up the good work and know that we are grateful for all you do to keep these successes happening!

With gratitude,

Shauna DeMarco

Superintendent, Ramapo Indian Hills Regional High School District

After a strong showing at the Bergen County Relays, the track team competes in the Big North Championships at River Dell High School.

Girls Lacrosse have won six straight games going 3-0 just over the break.

The Baseball team played and won their annual game at Clover Stadium (former Rockland Boulders Stadium) last Saturday vs Waldwick.

Audrey Amoruso is having an amazing season - she has already pitched a perfect game, a no-hitter, and has 14 strikeouts so far. The Softball team won against IHA during the break, (IHA was the #6 team in the state) helping Joe Leicht pick up his 1,300th overall coaching win! Congratulations Coach!

Our JV Baseball team (pictured) battled back to win the Wood-Ridge JV Baseball Tournament, scoring 10 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning! They're the #1 seed in the JV County Tournament, which starts up this week.

Raiders baseball is on an 8 game winning streak since April 11th.

The Boys Golf team now has a 9-2 record, winning their last five matches.

Stay Up to Date on Sports

We will always make space to promote our athletic teams' successes here in our bi-weekly newsletter. In those time periods between newsletter issues, the best way to keep tabs on all our student athletes is through social media.

Specifically, the district Instagram profile allows us to collaborate with and share the most recent news from our team sports profiles as they are preparing for a competition or celebrating the outcome. Follow us there to see current stories, read updates, and see posts about wins and losses.

Go TEAM!

To-do List Getting Done

The Ramapo High School custodial staff has been working diligently to enhance our facilities and support student life. Recent improvements at Ramapo High School include the complete transformation of Room 810 into a fully functioning classroom and the redesign of Room 112 for professional development and staff meetings. Student spaces were also a priority, featuring a refresh of the Senior Commons and the installation of larger high-top tables in the cafeteria, alongside three new water fillers across the building. Additionally, the team revitalized common areas with fresh paint in the main entrance and glass hallway, organized athletic equipment storage, and carefully restored a commemorative bench honoring a cherished Ramapo graduate.

Upcoming State Assessments: May 2026

As we mentioned in the last issue of Highlights & Happenings, the New Jersey Student Learning Assessments (NJSLA) is coming up. Starting this year, the state is transitioning to the NJSLA-Adaptive (NJSLA-A) format for ELA and Mathematics.

The computer-based format adjusts the difficulty of questions in real-time based on student responses, providing a more tailored and precise assessment of student knowledge.
