A Message from the Superintendent

Dear Ramapo Indian Hills Families,

We are just days away from the start of the 2026–2027 school year, and we are excited to welcome our new students, returning students, and members of the Class of 2027 as they begin their final year of high school.

The start of a new school year always brings opportunities for growth, fresh routines, and positive change. This year, we will implement a new state law restricting student use of personal internet-enabled devices—most notably cell phones—throughout the school day. In response, we have updated and standardized our expectations across both schools to provide students, families, and staff with clear and consistent guidance. The district shared an email to families with links to resources on September 1st. Complete information about the updated policy and its implementation, along with guidance related to exceptions, is also available on our district website.

Last month, the district hosted a virtual information session to explain what the new “bell-to-bell” expectations will look like for our students. Families who were unable to attend—or who would like to review the information—may view the webinar recording here.

As we build this new habit together, our goal remains focused on what matters most: creating classrooms with fewer distractions, strengthening student engagement, and providing more opportunities for meaningful learning and in-person connection throughout the school day. Away we go!

With gratitude,

Shauna DeMarco

Superintendent, Ramapo Indian Hills Regional High School District

New Staff Orientation

The newest members of the Ramapo Indian Hills team kicked off their orientation day with guided tours of both high school campuses, getting an energizing first look at the spaces where they’ll soon make an impact. From classrooms to collaborative hubs, they had the chance to meet colleagues, explore each building’s unique character, and start feeling right at home. It was a warm, welcoming start to an exciting year ahead for our new staff.

District Staff Opening Day

Returning staff came together for a lively and productive professional day, reconnecting with colleagues and settling back into their classrooms. The day offered time to refresh routines, review important policies, and look ahead to the exciting year in store. With shared energy and a renewed sense of purpose, our faculty is ready to welcome students and launch another great year at Ramapo Indian Hills.

RIH Staff Summer Memories

As we bid farewell to the summer of 2026, we thank all our staff for sharing their favorite memories with us. Summer may have passed, but the memories will live on.
