Ramapo Baseball


The Ramapo High School Baseball Team’s record currently stands at 14-11.  They recently knocked off State-ranked St. Joseph’s 12-2.  Michael Whooley and Payne Teel led the way at the plate and Nico Logothetis went all the way on the mound to earn the victory.    They knocked off Pascack Valley in the Bergen County Tournament and took on number #1 State-ranked Don Bosco in the quarterfinals.  In that game, Logothetis went the whole way, giving up only 3 hits in the shutout.  The team expects to earn the #4 seed in the upcoming state playoffs.

Ramapo Boys and Girls Track


Congratulations to Izzie Anzaldo one of the senior captains and leading NorthJersey sprinter on being named Bergen Record Athlete of the Week! Four golds at Bergen County Championship: 100m/12.65, 400m/56.78, 4x100 anchor (120m in 12.5), 4x400 anchor (55.8)—great way to start championship season! Read more in this Bergen Record Article.


At the 126th running of the Penn Relays, Ramapo was represented by five relays teams: 


  • Girls 4x800 (Brianna Braver, Carly Griffin, Julia Wowkun, Bianca Wertheimer)
  • Girls 4x100 (Alexandra Cahill, Sydney Bangs, Carli Silverman, Izzie Anzaldo)
  • Girls 4x400 (Julia Wowkun, Kendall Schmidt, Carli Silverman, Izzie Anzaldo)
  • Boys 4x100 (Anthony Giampietro, Michael Samarro, Aidan Duffus, Jack Grusser)
  • Boys 4x800 (Tommy DiVincent, Ryan Welch, Stevie Feehan, Alex Horgan)


Noteworthy


  • We are the only school in NJ that had both boys and girls 4x800 relays teams accepted
  • The girls 4x100 placed 2nd in their heat and tied their season-best time
  • Boys 4x800 was the fastest team out of North Jersey schools and is currently Bergen County/North Jersey #2 and NJ #9
  • Girls 4x800 currently Bergen County/North Jersey #1 and NJ #6
  • Girls 4x400 won gold and brought home the Penn Relays plaque and gold medals for the 5th time in school history
  • Girls 4x400 is currently the fastest relay team in Bergen County/North Jersey and NJ #6

Ramapo Boys Tennis


The Ramapo Boys Tennis Team is currently 12-6. They have been a top team in Bergen County and are led by Max Lioa, Matt Miller, Sam Martin, and Jack Houston. Max Loia received a #14 Seed at the NJSIAA State Tournament and they will compete in the team state tournament as well.


Ramapo Softball


The Ramapo Softball team is currently 21-3 and ranked #16 in the State. They are the #2 seed in the BCWCA Tournament and defeated Waldwick in the first round and Park Ridge in the round of 16. They beat Emerson High School to move to the semifinals against Old Tappan High School. 


Savannah Ring, Sydney Samuel, Victoria Cunningham, and Lee Ann Downey have been hot at the plate and McKenna Lont has been stellar on the mound. They are the number 1 seed in the NJSIAA Tournament for North 1/Group 3 and defeated West Essex 13-3 on May 17th.


Ramapo Boys Volleyball


Boys Volleyball is coming off a terrific win in the Bergen County Tournament against Bergen Charter.  They played  Bergenfield very tough in the quarterfinals and had a 2-0 win over Bergen Catholic this week.  JJ Jenkins, Lucas Weiss, and Dan Costa had strong seasons for the team.

Ramapo Girls Lacrosse


Recently, the Girls Lacrosse Team had a big 10-6 win over a tough Mendham Squad.  In that game, Senior Lexi Wolfe scored her 100th career goal.  The team has won 3 of their last 4 games and is excited about their chances in the upcoming NJSIAA Tournament.  In round one of the States, they knocked off Mount Olive 12-6.  They take on Randolph in the quarter-finals next week. Megan Hogan, Caroline Murray, Ella Alexandrou, Marianna Kelly, and Kylie Max have all played well.  The team is 5-2 in their last 7 games.

Ramapo Girls Golf  


The Girls Golf Team is currently 4-4 and participated in the recent BCWCA Tournament and the NJSIAA North Jersey State Tournament.  Victoria Jolakian, Madison Schiller, Lily Elkin, Lucy Taylor, and Maggie Murtha have been their top golfers.  In fact, Victoria had the lowest score in nearly every team match played in the regular season.  She finished 5th at the county match at Darlington and Sectionals at Great Gorge.  She finished the season ranked in the top 35 in the State of New Jersey and played in the NJSIAA State Tournament on Monday, May 16th at Raritan Country Club. This was her second trip to the NJSIAA Tournament.  In a win against Mahwah, the team set a new Ramapo record of 194. For the second time, they qualified for States Sectionals.  At the Bergen County Girls Finals, Victoria shot a +5 (77) which is a new Ramapo Girls Golf 18-hole record! Victoria also holds the 9-hole record of 35. So Proud! Let’s Go Po!

Ramapo Boys Golf


The Boys Golf Team is currently 13-1. They are tied for first place in their conference and are considered one of the top teams in North Jersey. CJ Moran, Charlie Mssery, Harry Cohen, Alexander Jolakian, and Chris John have been among their top golfers as they move into the county and state tournaments. Also, 2022 BNC Freedom Division Tournament Champions! (311) ⁣

Congrats also to Freshman Harry Cohen on a 2nd place Finish, by 1 stroke, in the individual with a 72 (E)⁣


Also, Congratulations to the Boy's Golf Team for winning the NJSIAA 2022 North1/Group 3 Boys Golf Sectional Championship!


Shout out to Harry Cohen who finished first individually with a low score of 71 (+1)!!!!


The Team advanced to the Tournament of Champions at Hawk Pointe Country Club.


Ramapo Boys Lacrosse


The Boy’s Lacrosse team finished the season at 4-12. They recently earned a tough 8-5 victory over Tenafly in a recent Bergen County Tournament game. They took on St. Joseph’s in the quarterfinals and hosted North Hunterdon in a very tough game in the NJSIAA state tournament. Robbie Travers was a top defender all year and Ronnie Bavignoli was an all around threat on offense and defense.

Indian Hills Boys Golf


Boys Golf is currently 8-4 and looking forward to a strong finish. Congratulations to Rhys Burgess who had an outstanding day. The boys are gearing up for the Sectional.

Indian Hills Girls Spring Track 


Big North Championships - Wednesday 5/4

  • Abbey Churchill (Sr) took 2nd place overall in the 1600m in 5:19.83 (#7 all-time in IH history). 
  • Summer Myhren (Fr) 5:33.40 in the 1600m is #8 in NJ among Freshman
  • Allison Lounsbury (Sr) took 6th place overall in the 3200m.
  • Freshman Alexa Koller took 5th overall in the Long Jump (15-6) which qualified her for the freshman division of the Adidas National Championship


Crusader Relays - Friday 5/6

  • Abbey Churchill (Sr) won the 2000m Steeplechase, setting a meet record and school record of 7:41.00, just shy of the national qualifying mark.
  • Allison Lounsbury (Sr) won the 1500m.
  • 800m SMR of Maggie Ferrary (Fr), Kendall Leddy (Fr), Avarie Bergen (So), Brooke Chesney (Jr) set a school record of 2:00.20

Indian Hills Boys Spring Track 


Big North Championship - Wednesday 5/4

  • Raffi Buchakjian (Jr) took 3rd place in the 800m in 2:00.22 (in his first season).
  • Russell Braver (Sr) took 2nd place in the 3200m in 9:45.51.


Crusader Relays - Friday 5/6

  • The 800m SMR of Christian Wong (Sr), Gabe Speiser (Jr), Owen Zearfaus (Sr), and Deniz Kalkandelen (Jr) finished 5th in 1:39.56 which qualifies them for the Adidas National Championship.
  • Russell Braver (Sr) set a school record of 6:46.51 in the 2000m Steeplechase
  • The 1600m SMR of Christian Wong (Sr), Gabe Speiser (Jr), Deniz Kalkandelen (Jr), and Raffi Buchakjian (Jr) finished 3rd overall.

Indian Hills Girls Lacrosse


Girls Lacrosse is currently 6-9 qualifying for the County tournament and striving to make a run for the State tournaments. They are relatively young and have been playing well, dropping some close games.

Flag Football is halfway through the season and they are getting better with every game.

The Girls Golf Team had a great year. They finished at 8-5 which put us in 3rd place in the West Division. We qualified for the Big North, Gabby Becker and Kate Giletta qualified for counties, and the team qualified for State Sectionals. Thank you ladies for a great season (Megan Folin, Julia Tirino, Julia Kunz, Gabby Becker, Kate Giletta, Claire Giletta).


Indian Hills Boys Lacrosse


Boys Lacrosse is currently 8-5 and playing well. They have had some impressive wins and are going to be seeded high in the State tournament. Seeding will be coming out at the end of May.


Indian Hills Boys Volleyball


Volleyball qualified for the County Tournament dropping the game to Don Bosco Prep in a highly competitive game. They are a great group of players and we are looking forward to our future. 


NJSIAA Scholar Athlete Award


Congratulations to Jack Shah for being the Indian Hills recipient of the NJSIAA Scholar Athlete Award. He was honored at the NJSIAA brunch and awarded a scholarship along with this recognition.

Indian Hills Baseball


Baseball is currently 7-12 and playing in the BIT. They are ranked in the top 8 in Group 2 and playing some home games for our State Tournament. They have picked up some impressive wins and are getting hot at the right time. Great win in the first round of the BIT and moved on to play in the se round on 5/16 in Midland Park. The boys won their second BIT game and will be playing in the BIT final next week vs Teaneck. JV and Freshman teams have also advanced in their respective playoff brackets and will play in the next round.

Indian Hills Softball


Softball had a 7th inning walk-off homer to move past Ridgwood in a well played game and was 16-5 at the time. They have been ranked 6th in the County and are currently #1 in the State Group 2 rankings. They faced undefeated IHA on May 14th in the semifinals of the county tournament. 


The first round of the State Tournament was Tuesday 5/17 at home vs Lenape Valley. On Saturday 5/14 we knocked off undefeated Bergen Tech 3-2 in the Bergen County Tournament to advance to the final four. The next county game is vs IHA. JV Softball has also won two rounds of their tournament and is playing well.
