This year the Super Football Conference, in partnership with the New York Jets, is proud to announce the Steve DiGregorio Young Man of the Year Award. This award is presented to one individual from each member school who demonstrates a selfless commitment to his community, his school, his teammates, and his peers. The Super Football Conference is proud to present James Hickey with the 2021 Steve DiGregorio Young Man of the Year Plaque. Congratulations to James on this well-deserved honor and recognition!


Our Indian Hills Football team had a great season. They won four games and the last one on a last-second field goal. The coaching staff and our players are very optimistic that we are moving in the right direction. They ended the season with two consecutive wins and the last time they had a 4-win season was 2015.

Cross Country is one of the most dominant teams in North Jersey and continues to qualify for County and Sectional Championships. The girls finished 2nd and the boys finished 5th. They both qualified to compete in the State Group Championship. 


A HUGE Congratulations to ALLISON LOUNSBURY on finishing 20th at the NJ State Meet of Champions, making Allison 20th in the entire State! A perfect culmination to an outstanding high school Cross Country career.


End of year awards include:

  • Allison Lounsbury (12) - 3rd Team All-State, 1st Team All-North Jersey, 1st Team All-Bergen County, 1st Team All-Big North
  • Abbey Churchill (12) - Honorable Mention All-Bergen County, 2nd Team All-Big North
  • Kayla O’Neil (11) - Honorable Mention All-Bergen County
  • Russell Braver (12) - 3rd Team All-Bergen County, 2nd Team All-Big North
  • Dan Phillips (10) - 3rd Team All-Bergen County, 1st Team All-Big North, 2nd Team All-North Jersey
  • Brian Gummere (10) - Honorable Mention All-Bergen County, Honorable Mention All-Big North


Boys and Girls Soccer had great seasons even though they play the toughest schedule and are a Group 2 team in a Group 4 league. They were competitive in every game they played and the boys qualified for the Bergen Cup, while the girls qualified for the State tournaments. 


In addition, the Boys Soccer program is proud to celebrate JD Panzenhagen for making 1st Team All-League and Dylan Biernacki for being nominated as one of the Top 80 Freshmen in all of NJ! In the Bergen Cup, they were the 13th seed and defeated the 4th seed!


Gymnastics qualified for the County and Sectional Tournaments and had a State Individual qualifier, Lindsay Thompson.


Tennis demonstrated their dedication and commitment and look forward to continuing to improve next year. 


Girls Volleyball had a successful season that resulted in many team and individual accomplishments. The team earned the 2020-2021 AVCA Academic Team Award for maintaining an overall team GPA of 3.6. This year’s accomplishments included: 

  • 1st Team All-League – Abigail Franks (Abigail Franks was nominated for consideration to participate in the NJSCA Senior All-Star Game that will take place on December 5, 2021.) 
  • 2nd Team All-League – Katelyn Kulhawy 
  • 2nd Team All-League – Rebekah Eng 
  • Honorable Mention – Grace Brugna 
  • Honorable Mention – Kathleen DiFalco 


Senior Abby Franks broke the career blocks record for Indian Hills in our last game of the season. The previous record was 111 and Abby has 112.


Next season the Braves will be changing divisions from the Freedom, a Group 4 Division, to the Patriot, a Group 2 Division.

Brianna Braver is the Female Athlete of the Week


Ramapo Junior Brianna Braver won her second straight Sectional Cross Country Title by more than 30 seconds.

Boys Soccer: Team awards with a record of 17-1-2. Big North Freedom Division Champs, Bergen County Champions, Bergen County Coaches Association Team of the Year. Ranked #1 team in North Jersey by the Record Newspaper and ranked #15 in the State by NJ.Com Star-Ledger. Matt Albino Honorable Mention Freedom Division Bergen County Soccer Coaches Association Freedom Division Scholar-Athlete. Robbie Achter & Antonio Spina 2nd Team All-Freedom Division Co-MVP's of the County Final. Daris Rezamatovic 2nd Team All-Freedom Division. Jaydan Onal, Kevin McDonagh & MJ Dungo 1st Team Freedom Division & 2nd Team All-County. All-state Honors Cole Duschang, Nick Marino, Alim Lita & Sam Ware 1st Team Freedom Division, 1st team All-County All-State Honors. Sam Ware was also named 1st Team All-State & Regional All-American. Coach Baumgarten was named the BNC Freedom Division Coach of the Year.


Girls Soccer: A great season finishing at 16-3 and won the All-Freedom Division Title. Emily Chico and Mary Cochran were selected to be a part of the 9th annual Girls High School Soccer All-American Game. They are two of twenty members to represent the east in a game on December 11, 2021 at Bearden High School in Knoxville, Tn. Emily Chico and Mary Cochran named All-American. Mary scored 2 goals in the All-American Game. Emily Chico 1st Team All-State, Mary Cochran 3rd Team All-State. All-Conference 1st Team - Mary Cochran, Megan Twomey, Cassie Tufari Del Vecchio, Lily Johnson, Kate Langfelder, Julia DiDimizio, Emily Chico. All-Conference 2nd Team - Mia Fulco, Madison Schiller, Michelle Cardaci. All-Conference Honorable Mention - Maddie Kellogg.


Gymnastics: Finished second in the County meet with several strong individual placements. Gymnastics honors 2nd place team Bergen County and 3rd place team Leagues. Shayna Braver (Freshman) 1st team All-County, 1st team All-League All-Around, 8th All-Around in North 1 Sectionals, 3rd place vault sectionals. Juliana DeFino (Senior) 2 year Captain, 1st team All-League Beam, 2nd team All-County Beam, 5th place AA Bergen County. Noor Rabah (Junior) 1st team All-League Bars, 2nd team All-County Bars. Marin Lai (Junior) 2nd team All-League & HM County Floor. Joud Rai (Junior) HM County. Mercedes Blackwell (Senior) HM League. Catalina Cordova (Senior) HM League. 


Girls Tennis: Finished the season 14-3 Record & Big North Freedom Division Champions. Senior Captain Sophia Mosquera and Sophomore Elizabeth Ring had a phenomenal season playing first doubles for the 2022 girl's tennis team. They were 20-1, Bergen County Doubles Champions, 1st Team All-League, 1st Team All-County, 1st Team All-Group 3 State and 2nd Team All-State All-Groups. They reached the semifinals of the NJSIAA tournament defeating Holy Angels, Westfield, and Newark Academy all in straight sets on their way to the Semifinals. They are the second team to reach the Semifinals of the NJSIAA in girl's tennis Po history.


Girls Volleyball: Finished 2nd in the Freedom Division and had a great season. The Freshmen Team were Bergen County Champions!


Football: 10-2 Record. All-Conference: 1st Team - Jack Grusser, Ethan Moran, Ben Robinson, Michael Terranova, Dylan Snee, Jack Remo, Robert Travers. 2nd Team - Rocco Otazo, Dan Goldberg, Jack DenBlaker and Josiah Savitt. Jack Grusser - 2nd Team All-State QB, All-Group 4 1st Team. Ben Robinson - All-Group 4 3rd Team. Jack Grusser All-County QB, Ben Robinson All-County WR, Mike Terranova All-County OL, and Dylan Snee All-County LB. Coach Gibbs was named Bergen County Coach of the Year.

Masking & Public Health Update

January 22, 2022


Ensuring the health and safety of our students, staff, and school visitors is our top priority as we continue to meet the challenges presented by COVID-19. All individuals that visit our school for business purposes, parent conferences, extra-curricular activities, and Board of Education meetings are required to wear a face covering as per Executive Order No. 281 and practice physical distancing. All in-person meetings must allow participants to physically distance themselves from each other. Read more here.

Shortened Recommended Isolation and Quarantine Periods

January 14, 2022


On Thursday, January 6th, 2022 the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released updated guidance for COVID-19 prevention in schools which shortens the recommended isolation and quarantine periods for COVID-19 positive individuals and close contacts. On January 12th, the New Jersey Department of Health released COVID-19 public health recommendations for local health departments for K-12 schools. Read more here.
