The Bishop was informed that Linda Kuʻualoha Akana Sproat (1940-2025) died on the evening of January 5, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Linda was a lifelong member of Christ Memorial Episcopal Church, Kīlauea, Kauaʻi, and served that congregation for many years as the Senior Warden. Within the Diocese, she served as a member of the Standing Committee, on the Bishop Search Committee, and as a longtime leader of the Native Hawaiian Ministry Committee. In The Episcopal Church, Linda was a leader on the Episcopal Council of Indigenous Ministries and with the Anglican Indigenous Network.
She is survived by her husband, David, their daughters – Kapua Sproat, Stacy Sproat-Beck, Nanea Sproat-Armitage. Please keep them in your prayers.

ALMIGHTY AND ETERNAL GOD, to whom there is never any prayer made without hope of mercy, be merciful to the soul of your faithful servant, Linda, being departed from this world in the confession of your Holy Name that she and all the departed may be welcomed into the company of your saints, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Rest eternal grant her, O Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon her. May our sister, Linda, rest in peace. Amen.
