The Reverend Alberto P. Alarcon died following a long illness Monday evening (April 14, 2025). Fr. Bert was ordained in the Iglesia Filipina Independiente (IFI), a Full-Communion partner of the Episcopal Church. He was a graduate of St. Andrew’s Seminary. While working in accounting here in Hawaiʻi, he was first licensed by Bishop Browning in 1978 and has faithfully served in this Diocese ever since. He was for many years a priest associate at St. Paul’s Church, Honolulu. He is remembered for providing bookkeeper services for Mission congregations.
Fr. Bert is survived by his wife, Emelina; their children, Christy and Noel; and grandchildren.

ALMIGHTY AND ETERNAL GOD, to whom there is never any prayer made without hope of mercy, be merciful to the soul of your faithful servant, Alberto, being departed from this world in the confession of your Holy Name that he and all the departed may be welcomed into the company of your saints, through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Rest eternal grant him, O Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon him. May our brother, Alberto, rest in peace. Amen.
