RIVERSIDE – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) continues work on a $241 million pavement, beautification, and safety enhancements project on Interstate 10 (I-10), in and near Blythe. This project includes concrete pavement rehabilitation of 88 lane miles, on and off ramps, and shoulders. 11,950 linear feet of new guardrail systems. Upgrades of curb ramps, sidewalks and crosswalk safety enhancements and “push button posts” to ADA standards (Americans with Disabilities Act). Also included are bridge upgrades, new signage, landscaping, and a “Beautification Monument”.
Crews continue prep work on the I-10 Blythe Pavement, Beautification, and Safety Enhancements project.
Hours of operation: Monday – Friday 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Prep work: Surveys and clearing and grubbing will take place in the center median, behind k-rail, and on shoulders.
- No lane closures scheduled at this time.
Be advised: Speed limits will be reduced throughout the construction zone.
