The IWA Community Gathers To Bless And Dedicate The New Multi-Sport Artificial Turf Field.

On Sunday, September 18, 2022, Red Knight players and fans had more to be thankful for than just the glorious fall weather that marked the end of another Spirit Week and Homecoming. Incarnate Word Academy students, faculty, staff, alumnae, friends, and family members used this occasion to gather for a ceremony to bless and dedicate the recently completed multi-sport turf field and press box. Athletes and coaches from IWA’s soccer, softball, and lacrosse teams, as well as representatives from IWA’s Board of Trustees and administrative team, encircled the large Red Knight logo at center field for the ceremony - which included recognition of former athletes and coaches in attendance, as well as a special prayer written for the occasion. The ceremony concluded with a spirited rendition of IWA’s school song.

Ground was broken for the new turf field and press box in December, 2021, and construction was completed in time for the start of the school year. The turf field project was identified as a funding priority of the Inspired Vision. Empowered Future. Campaign. Thanks to our generous campaign donors who helped make this vision a reality!

Reunion Season Is In Full Swing For Generations of Women of the Word.

The weekend of September 16-18, 2022, was particularly busy at Incarnate Word Academy. In addition to the culmination of Spirit Week and Homecoming, it also marked the 50th reunion for the Class of 1972. Known affectionately as "Golden Girls," these Women of the Word gathered on campus for a Friday evening crawfish boil, and then returned two days later for the traditional Golden Girls mass, parade, and luncheon (see photo below.) 

Keep Spreading The Word About The IWA Sisterhood! 

With our 90th anniversary celebration underway, there has never been a better time to become a Red Knight. IWA’s eighth grade shadow program, known as Future Red Knight Visit Days, is currently underway, with visit dates available throughout the months of October and November. IWA will also host an Open House on Sunday, November 6, 2022 from 11:00am until 3:00pm.

How can you help? It’s simple, just identify a current 8th grade student and ask her to visit Incarnate Word Academy. There are potential IWA girls everywhere - in your neighborhood, your church, your extended family, or even daughters of your work colleagues! In addition, we are inviting all potential transfer students from Rosati-Kain High School to attend any or all of our fall visit opportunities.

IWA's STEM Student Ambassador Program Garners Attention.

Incarnate Word Academy's STEM Ambassador program was recently featured in the St. Louis Review. The article highlights the continuing outreach IWA students have made to local Catholic elementary schools by creating monthly STEM education kits. So far, the STEM Ambassadors have prepared kits for more than 450 students, with more orders coming in every day.
