Rice and Larpenteur Alliance Celebrates Momentum Amid Funding Cuts

Pioneer Press, October 11, 2026

Pioneer Press

Our work and funding challenges were recently highlighted in the Pioneer Press, and our results and momentum are clear:

Crime is way down (45% reduction in reactive police visits in St Paul from 2017-2025).

Safer road and sidewalk infrastructure has been installed or is planned, and enhanced transit services are on the way.

New businesses are choosing our area, and longtime businesses continue to grow and thrive.

Through community events, signage, and public art, we celebrate our diverse cultures and the neighborhood pride that brings us together.

We have weathered hard times, risen to meet challenges, and continued moving forward. While we have made meaningful progress, there is still a long path ahead. Our future is bright, and with continued community support, collaboration, and investment, we can build on this momentum.

Join us as we continue working toward a stronger, safer, and more vibrant community for all!

Rice Street Banners

Our Welcome to Rice Street banners are now proudly on display from Cook to Wheelock Parkway thanks to the Commercial Corridor Organization Assistance Program from the City of Saint Paul, and the 243 neighbors that voted for their favorite design. The banners will be installed following each segment of Rice Street construction by Ramsey County.

This project was funded by the City of Saint Paul - Commercial Corridor Program and installed by Ramsey County, as part of reconstruction. We are grateful to our partners North End Neighborhood Organization - District 6 for working together to make this happen.
