What is your greatest quality/strength you are best known for?
My greatest strength is teamwork, my genuine ability to work well with others, always bringing a positive attitude and a results-driven mindset.
What would you consider to be your area of expertise?
I'm currently expanding my knowledge in occupational safety, and I have a strong foundation in risk management. I'm passionate about creating safe work environments and am committed to continuous learning and applying best practices. My proactive approach to hazard identification and mitigation supports my journey towards expertise in this field.
How long have you been working in the food industry?
I have more than 12 years of experience in the food industry, my journey has encompassed roles from serving to restaurant management, and currently, in Risk Management.
When did you first become involved with RLPSA? What benefits have you gained as a result of this partnership.
I attended my first RLPSA conference in February of this year, and since then, I've had the opportunity to connect with people from various organizations. These valuable connections have provided me with insights into different methods of safety training and programs that I might not have encountered otherwise.
What advice would you give a young professional as they launch their new career?
My advice is to always stay curious. Cultivating a curious mindset helps me prevent complacency and keeps me open to new ideas and experiences. I make it a point to consistently seek out new knowledge and perspectives because there's always more to learn. This way, I am always growing and adapting, both personally and professionally.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I consider myself a foodie and a passionate home cook. I love exploring new restaurants and, when I find a dish, I really enjoy, I challenge myself to recreate it at home. Cooking is a passion of mine, and I'm always striving to elevate my skills. Besides cooking, I also enjoy camping with my husband and our two dogs, it is a great way for us to unwind and enjoy the outdoors together.
If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would it be?
The summer heat has come in full swing so I would want to be on a beach somewhere in Hawaii right now.
If you could choose one superhero power, what would it be and why?
If I could choose a superpower, it would be the ability to fly. I would no longer have to sit in traffic and could get anywhere I wanted much faster.
