RMS Families,
Happy December! The first semester is winding down, but the excitement around here is ramping up! We are getting very excited here at RMS as we approach our first ever Leadership Expo on December 20th! Our students will participate in an exposition where they will have the opportunity to view all of the different LEAD teams available to them. During the expo, each student will identify their top three choices, then be placed on one of those LEAD teams beginning January 20th.
Our student lighthouse team and staff lighthouse team have been working hard to prepare for this day. Our teachers have worked hard developing eye catching presentations to best describe the teams they will be facilitating. We are looking forward to our students experiencing their first RMS Leadership Expo on December 20th!
In this edition of the monthly family newsletter you will learn/be reminded about:
- Data update
- RTI update
- BSIP information
- Communication reminders
- Upcoming events
Thank you,
Allison Dishman, Principal
Tonia Herbold, Assistant Principal
Curt White, Assistant Principal
Michael Wright, Assistant Principal

Families,
We are beginning hearing and vision screenings for all seventh graders. If your child fails their screening, you will receive communication from the nurses office. If you do not receive a notification, that means your child passed their screenings.
If you wish to opt out of the screenings for your seventh grader, please call the nurses office. 417-732-3640 ext. 4011
Thank you for all you do to keep our kids healthy, safe, and loved. Have a wonderful holiday season.

We are currently in our third ELA RTI cycle. We will begin the second semester in our third Math RTI cycle. Teachers continue doing a great job identifying the best instructional strategies to best meet the needs of our students. Students have the opportunity to participate in Personalized Learning Time or Intervention during this class time.

Students will receive their second semester schedules (due to new electives) on December 19th during LEAD class. You may also view your student's schedule on the parent portal.

Random Student Drug Testing -2nd enrollment window open for Spring Sports
7th and 8th grade only
Per
Board of Education policy JFCI
, if your student plans to participate in any activities, athletics, clubs, or organizations they must have a random student drug testing form on file.
The random student drug testing consent form is a one-time enrollment for a student's entire school career (6-12 grades). If your student turned one in last year or at the beginning of this year they will not need to submit a new one for a spring sport or for any additional years your student attends Republic School District.
If your 7th or 8th grader plans to participate in any of the qualifying activities during the 2019-20 school year, they must have a copy of the random student drug testing consent form on file.
For athletic/activities taking place in the spring, the second enrollment window is open from January 6th-January 17th.
A copy of the consent form can by clicking
here
.
