Avalanche Awareness Workshop

Meet at 5:30 p.m. in the Wood River Room, Pond Student Union Building. Have you been skiing backcountry terrain? Perhaps you ride a powder sled and enjoy high marking. Maybe you’ve been lucky enough to find an avalanche transceiver in your Christmas stocking, or you just want to brush up on your avalanche skills. Spend an evening learning the basics of avalanche awareness and companion rescue. Contact the Outdoor Adventure Center to reserve a spot in advance. Space is limited.

The ISU faculty Monarch Trio will perform with Dr. Hyeri Choi on the violin, Dr. Eleanor Cox on the cello, and Dr. Kori Bond on the piano. Come shown your support and enjoy some awesome music.

We will be exploring the Romack Gem Collection which includes a 1601 carat marquis cut quarts, 16 carat cut green quartz, 124 carat Ametrine quartz plus other incredible gems that will be available for viewing during this special Behind the Scenes.

Talk Saves Lives

Talk Saves Lives is the American Foundation for Suicide Preventions' standardized, 90-minute program that provides participants with a clear understanding of this leading cause of death, including the most up-to-date research on suicide prevention and what individuals can do in their communities to save lives.

Participants will learn common risk factors and warning signs associated with suicide and how to keep themselves and others safe.
