Student Survey on Textbook Costs

We are looking for students' thoughts, feelings, and experiences in regard to the cost of textbooks. Open Education Resources are class materials that are free or more affordable for students and instructors. The ISU Libraries are hosting virtual events the week of February 22 - 26 to raise awareness on our campuses about the opportunities to use OER in classrooms.

The survey is open now and closes at 5 PM on Friday, February 19.

Take the survey here.

Stay Informed with ASISU

ASISU, Associated Students of Idaho State University, plays a crucial role in voicing the concerns and opinions of students to the administration. They are the tool that students must utilize during their time here to effect change in their college experience.

HOW does ASISU help make those changes?

The student government attends most meetings of the colleges to voice student opinions or concerns in hopes of finding mutually agreeable solutions and to promote positive changes in the student experience.

Every college has its own liaison to hear and represent students in their specific area and to address student-raised issues. For example, if students are having Zoom problems over which they have no control, contacting the ASISU senators may be part of the solution. The senator will be able to take these issues to the administration and find a solution for all students.

ASISU also works on many projects to upgrade the student experience, including their newest resolution to adopt an off-campus housing site designated for ISU students and approve funding for library renovations. They also approve club funding, student activities, and much more.

They serve the student body to the best of their abilities, but, as students, we must all reach out and voice our concerns. Contact ASISU senators through email, social media, or by attending senate meetings, which are held at the Pond Student Union, every Wednesday @ 7:00 p.m.
