There are United States Postal Service Forever Women's Rowing specialty stamps remaining available! There are four different stamp designs in a sheet of 20 stamps. Nancy Stahl designed and illustrated these stamps.
It wasn't until 1972 that women began seriously participating in college sports with the passing of federal legislation Title IX, prohibiting gender discrimination. The first-time women rowers competed in the Olympics was 1976, they won the bronze. The next Olympics they competed in 1984, they won the gold. Thereafter, they won silver 2004, followed by gold in 2008, 2012 and 2016. Great stuff to be proud of!!!

APRIL QUOTE OF THE MONTH: | |
by George Yeoman Pocock, author of Ready All! & leading designer and builder of racing shells:
"It is hard to make that boat go as fast as you want it too. The enemy, of course, is the resistance of the water, as you have to displace the amount of water, equal to the weight of the men and equipment, but that very water is what supports you, and that very enemy is your friend. So is life, the very problems that you must overcome, also support you and make you stronger in overcoming them."
