Nickel for Nicole campaign
The Red Oak High School HADDIT (Hawks Against Destructive Decisions Inspiring Teens) organization supported by Project Success, participated in the Nickel from Nicole campaign. Students attached post cards on student driver's windshields at ROHS. This nickel is to be placed on the dashboard of your car to remind you to drive safely all the time.
HADDIT is a group of students at Red Oak High School taking a stand against the dangers of drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and other destructive decisions. Sponsors for the group are Sgt. Lori Guarnero and Charmianne Womack from the ROISD Police Dept.

Karla Shields visits display case at Shields Elementary
Karla Shields, the daughter of former ROISD Superintendent Donald T. Shields, visited the school named after her father on Jan. 26. This was her first time to see the display case since all the contents that were damaged in the 2015 tornado were restored. Joined by Interim Superintendent Alan Oakley, Shields Principal Shondra Jones and Assistant Principal Melissa Cunningham, Karla holds up the quilt she made for her father from her collection of Shields Elementary T-shirts. Karla carries on her father's legacy by leading the Red Oak High School Alumni Association.

Skylert Notification System
Red Oak ISD has upgraded its district-wide notification system with a system called Skylert. Skylert allows Red Oak ISD the ability to send instant communication via phone, SMS text message, and e-mail to parents. We will utilize this effective and efficient communication system as part of our continuous effort of keeping staff, students and parents informed and safe!
As a parent/guardian, this new notification system allows you the opportunity to identify your notification preferences and opt in/out of specific message types through your Skyward Family Access account.
Changes to your contact information can be done via Skyward Family Access or by contacting your student's campus.
The Skylert notification system allows Red Oak ISD the ability to disseminate information to parents by way of three notification types: Emergency, General, and Attendance. Read more...
