ROOSEVELT PARK UPDATES STYLE OF FIRESIDE RESTAURANT 

 


Roosevelt Campobello International Park announces a major change to its food services program at the Park. The Fireside Restaurant will switch from an al a cart service to a Marketplace style service.  Emphasis will be high quality food, expertly prepared, ready for guests to enjoy. The new Marketplace style restaurant will now be open 7-days a week for lunch and dinner.

Roosevelt Campobello International Park announces a major change to the food services program at the Park. The Fireside Restaurant will switch from an al a cart service to a Marketplace style service.  Emphasis will be high quality food, expertly prepared, ready for guests to enjoy. The new Marketplace restaurant will now be open 7-days a week for lunch and dinner.
 
With a huge increase in visitors 2016 (up 17% over 2015), the Park is changing the style of restaurant service they offer to guests to accommodate the influx of new visitors.
 
"With more than 160,000 visitors expected this year the Park wanted  a better way to accommodate more guests and offer high quality food choices that are ready to serve." said Jamie Carr, Superintendent of the Park.  "Guests can now eat in or take out and have more time to spend visiting the natural and historical wonders of the Park and the island

."
 
The Marketplace style is similar to a cafeteria type restaurant with a choice of menu items that are freshly prepared and ready to serve. The restaurant will extend its hours and be open for lunch and dinner seven days a week.
 
 Menu choices will change from week to week reflecting food that is fresh and locally sourced when available. Visitors will find the menu posted at the Park Visitor Centre on the Park's Facebook pages and on FDR.NET .
 
Because of the new style, the Fireside will no longer take reservations. Service will be on a first come first served basis. Large groups will still be accommodated with special reserve seatings when arrange
d in advance.
 
The Fireside Restaurant opened to the public in 2014 in the extensively remodeled Adams Lodge, once owned by FDR's cousin Frederick Adams, a wealthy business man who  brought his family to Campobello Island in the summers.
