Dear ROSA Community:

Summer is arriving with a full slate of news to share. It was wonderful to connect with so many of you at the NYSERDA State of the Science in early June. The energy in the room reflects how much this community has grown and how much important work is underway.

Our team has been busy on multiple fronts. In this issue, you will find details on the latest FishFORWRD update, a welcome to three new board members, an introduction to our summer Science Scholar intern, and the release of the U.S. Atlantic Offshore Research Data Management and Sharing Plan template. You'll also find a reminder about our upcoming June Advisory Council meeting.

Looking ahead, we remain focused on ensuring that the growing body of offshore wind fisheries research is well-coordinated, well-documented, and accessible to the people who need it most. Thank you for your continued partnership in that work.

FishFORWRD Major Update!

FishFORWRD just got a major update! ROSA's Fish and Fisheries OffshoRe Wind Research Database (FishFORWRD) is a catalog of all U.S. Atlantic Coast research, monitoring efforts, programs and stated research needs for offshore wind, fish, and fisheries.

ROSA Welcomes 2026 Science Scholar Intern: Deepthi Kavitha

ROSA’s Science Scholar internship provides an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to our mission to provide for and advance regional scientific research, monitoring and understanding of fisheries and the interactions with blue economy activities. 

Data Management & Sharing (DMSP) Template Available Now

ROSA and the Regional Wildlife Science Collaborative (RWSC) have developed a joint Data Management & Sharing Plan (DMSP) template to support coordinated, high-quality data stewardship across U.S. Atlantic offshore research projects.



A DMSP is a formal document that outlines how research data will be handled, stored, shared, and preserved throughout the lifecycle of a project.
