NOVEMBER 2020 NEWS
Dear ROSA Community,

We have a lot going on this month. This news update highlights several opportunities for engaging with ROSA:

Advisory Council Meeting, November 23

The next meeting of the Advisory Council, which is open to the public, will take place on November 23 from 9 am-12 pm. We have a packed agenda, which includes discussions of future research, data management, and priority setting. You can read the full agenda here and RSVP for the meeting here. Materials related to the last meeting can be found on the Home page of our website under What is Happening. I hope that you will join us for this important meeting.

Call for Research Advisor Applications

ROSA is seeking applications for Research Advisors: scientists and subject matter experts who will provide guidance to ROSA on matters related to scientific research. We are aiming to develop a pool of advisors who represent a broad range of expertise and sectors, including governmental agencies, academia, industry (fishing and offshore wind), and other organizations. Research Advisors will be called upon as needed to support ROSA on research relating to their areas of expertise. To learn more about the opportunity and apply, visit the Leadership page on our website. The application deadline is December 18.

I will be hosting a webinar to provide information on the Research Advisor role and the application process on November 19 at 2 pm. Please sign up for the webinar if you are interested.

Interim Fisheries Resources Research and Monitoring Guidelines Input Due November 18

Comments on the Interim Fisheries Resources Research and Monitoring Guidelines, developed by a ROSA working group, are due by November 18. The draft guidelines are intended to inform the development of fisheries research and monitoring plans at commercial offshore wind farms and associated areas. BOEM and some Atlantic Coast states require developers to create these plans, which summarize the potential impacts of offshore wind development on physical and biological resources. For more information on the guidelines and instructions on how to provide input, visit the Resources page on our website.

I look forward to seeing many of you at the November 23 Advisory Council meeting. I hope you and your family have a happy and safe Thanksgiving.
Best Regards,

Lyndie Hice-Dunton, Ph.D.
Executive Director, ROSA
