Canterbury Street Reconstruction Project

In order to prepare for the Canterbury Street Reconstruction Project, the water main on Canterbury St. between 47th St. – 48th St. will need to be replaced and relocated. WaterOne plans to start this work on February 6th, which will take approximately 2 months to complete.

Canterbury St will be closed to thru traffic during the project. They will be laying the main down the center of the Northbound lane and the street will be closed within construction limits as they progress. Residents will have access to their driveways but will have to adapt to getting to it from the North or South depending on where we are with the installation of the new water main.

Brief water outages of less than 4 hours will be necessary. In order for you to be notified of outages in your neighborhood, please go to www.NotifyJoCo.org to register your contact information and location preferences. Thank you for your patience as we work to improve the streets in Roeland Park!

Now Hiring: Equipment Operator - Public Works Department!

The preferred candidate will possess construction skills and heavy equipment operating experience.  Candidates who do not have these skills or experience must possess the ability to learn public works operations that include street maintenance, concrete repair/finishing, traffic maintenance, equipment operation, landscaping maintenance, snow removal operations and heavy equipment operation.
