July 3rd Fireworks

The Cities of Fairway, Roeland Park, Westwood and Westwood Hills are excited to announce the joint July 3rd fireworks show is planned to take place at Bishop Miege at 9:30 pm. The July 3rd fireworks show has been a tradition for many years and we are proud to bring it back together. Thank you to Bishop Miege and the St. Agnes Parish for continuing to partner with us on the show as well.

Other than the public display on July 3rd, only basic firecrackers, sparklers, snakes and snaps are allowed in Roeland Park and limited to July 4th between the hours of noon and 10pm. Fireworks are not allowed to be set off in the streets or any private property, such as school parking lots. Bottle rockets or fireworks that are shot into the air are not allowed.
Trash Amnesty Week

For your trash pick up the week of July 5th - July 9th, you can put out unlimited trash bags on your trash pick up day without purchasing bag tags. Please don't put out large items or construction debris.

NOTE: GFL will collect one day after your regular service day the week of July 4th due to the holiday!
Swim Lessons News

All evening swimming lessons throughout the remainder of the summer were cancelled due to lack of staffing. Notifications and refunds should have been received by the account holder in early June. If you registered for evening swimming lessons and haven't received your refund, please contact City Hall at 913-722-2600.

Morning swimming lessons are still being offered for sessions 2 - 4. More information can be found on our website.We are so sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate the patience as we work through a new program.
