WE VALUE YOUR FEEDBACK: We are working to figure out the best options for our church programming as we move into the fall. Please help us by participating in this survey by August 1.
Brian and Sunelle Lays arrive in Jacksonville in just a few days!
Help us welcome them by signing up to bring them a meal or "pounding" them with some essentials.
What's a Pounding? Pounding is a ritual in which those who are new to the area are given arrival gifts to ease them into their new place. These may include a pound of an item, such as coffee, sugar, flour, honey etc.

August 1 - September 5: On the odd days of the month we will be offering the Lays a meal and on the even days of the month we will be Pounding them with various essentials.

Who can sign up: Anyone in the RPC Community! Families, single people, friend groups, small groups, Sunday School classes.

Do I have to get *exactly* what is listed for a Pounding? No! These are ideas but if you have something you really want to do, please plan to do that instead. When you sign up, just please COMMENT with your alternate plans.

Dropoff: All meals and gifts should be dropped off at the Lays home between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm on the day you sign up for. There will be a cooler on the front porch if needed. The Lays live in the Riverside area and their address will be sent to you in your confirmation signup email. Didn't get it? Please check your spam folder.

Join biblical studies professors and church theologians for a new live, interactive, impromptu online Bible study.
An Online Popup Bible Study
returns on Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. (EST) on Facebook Live and Zoom.

Meeting on Wednesday evenings (Aug 5–Sept 2) for this series, Office Hours features engaging and unscripted conversations about Scripture and the Christian life with First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta’s Scholar in Residence, Chris Holmes, and Columbia Theological Seminary’s associate professor of Hebrew Bible, Brennan Breed.
Our next study, “The Book of James: Wisdom and the Way of Jesus,” will provide a chapter-by-chapter exploration of the Book of James and an examination of its central theological themes.

Participants who want a deeper experience may also register to receive free access to course material, complete with syllabus, downloadable readings, and audio-video links for further study.

The instructions and link to join the class will be in next Wednesday's RPC Weekly Email.
