Dear Redeemer Community,
At Redeemer we are blessed with many gifts, and among the greatest, is our faculty! Not only are they dedicated teachers and positive role models, they are kind and compassionate individuals who care tremendously about our students and each other. We have much to celebrate as this year, more than ever, many of them have reached milestone years at Redeemer.
Judi Smith is about to complete her
30th year teaching at Redeemer. Judi is a talented and creative educator who consistently brings new ideas to both our kindergarten and school program. She has also done an outstanding job as our Values teacher, positively impacting the social and emotional development of our entire student body. Our community is a better place because of Judi's presence.
Eileen Loeb has served two different stints at Redeemer so it took a little investigation to determine that this is her
21st year teaching at PDS. While sorry that we missed the 20th, we are excited to celebrate all that she has done for her students and our school. Eileen has great insight and a strong understanding of her students' needs. She works hard to design learning experiences that target the minds and hearts of four year olds. We are so lucky that Eileen chooses to teach at Redeemer.
Margy Hooper has been teaching at Redeemer for
20 years. She is a very capable educator who has done an outstanding job developing a curriculum that is age-appropriate and engaging. A dedicated teacher, Margy takes great pride in each and every one of her students. PDS not only benefits from her expertise and knowledge, but from her commitment to our school and community.
Terri Ball has worked at Redeemer for
ten years as a threes assistant, pre-k assistant and Lunch Bunch teacher. She brings a fresh perspective to our team and embraces challenge as well as new ideas. Terri cares about her students and colleagues, and her sense of humor is contagious. She brings many gifts to our community, and we are fortunate to have her at Redeemer.
Melanie Baker, I am proud to say,was my first hire and has been at Redeemer for
five years. She is an energetic and positive team player who shows great enthusiasm and love for preschoolers. Melanie takes the time to understand her students' strengths and challenges and sees the best in each and every one of them. Melanie is supportive of our program and mission. We are lucky to have her!
Wendy Craig is in her
fifth year as our PE and science teacher. Her creativity and talent has added much to our community. Wendy is an excellent team player who works with our teachers to integrate what is happening in the classroom into her program. Her curriculum is hands-on and engaging, and our students love the time they spend in PE and science. Wendy is a gifted teacher, and we are grateful for all she does.
Caroline Zuidema is also celebrating her
fifth year as a Redeemer teacher. She engages with her students in such a nurturing way, and they all love spending time with her. Caroline is upbeat, positive and enjoys her role in our 2s program. She is a team player whose flexibility and willingness to help are an asset to our community. We are so fortunate to have Caroline in at Redeemer.
I, too, am celebrating a milestone year as I am completing my
tenth year working at Redeemer. Over the past 18 years, Redeemer has become a home away from home and a second family. I am so grateful for the early learning foundation my children received as well as the professional opportunities I have had. I continue to be most thankful for the wonderful connections and relationships I have built with my colleagues, the PDS families and the Redeemer community. I know how fortunate I am to have landed in such a special place.
Please join me in congratulating and thanking these teachers, and the rest of the incredible PDS faculty, for their outstanding service to our community. Be sure to click on the slideshow link under the Quicklinks section to get a glimpse of them in action.
Have a great weekend!
