Updating your RRCA profile
|
|
In 2021 we launched our current website and membership system, and the process for logging into RRCA.org to manage your profile and update your CPR and First Aid information has changed. Below are detailed instructions for accessing and updating your profile:
-
Visit RRCA.org and click Membership System Login.
- If you have forgotten your username or password, utilize the links below the login fields to access your username or reset your password.
- Log in with your username and password. Your username is your email address.
-
Click the My Profile button.
-
Your name will be displayed in the upper right corner. Click your name to open up the drop-down menu, and click My Profile (see image).
- Click the blue pencil in the upper right to make the fields editable (see image). Review your information and make any needed updates. We encourage you to add a profile photo/logo, information about your coaching services, etc. This will be included on your public listing.
-
Add/update and validate your Directory Address. Our website uses your directory city and state to populate the Find a Coach list. While you must provide a full street address, only your city and state will be visible to the public. Completing this step will make the Update button clickable at the bottom of your profile.
- Update your CPR and First Aid expiration dates and upload your new certification documents.
-
Click Update at the bottom of your profile to save your edits.
|
|
|
Important notes:
- You have the option of affiliating yourself with an RRCA member club or event. However, please ignore this section and don't click on it if it's not applicable to you.
-
When updating your CPR and First Aid information, we require that you enter your new expiration dates AND upload your certification documents. This information will transfer automatically to your Coaching Certification record(s) to maintain or restore your Good Standing status.
- Please allow up to two hours for your updates to be reflected on our website.

Maintaining your Good Standing as a Coach
|
|
To remain an RRCA Certified Coach in Good Standing, you must have valid CPR and First Aid certifications and an Individual Coach RRCA membership.
We accept CPR and First Aid courses that are completed online, in person, or as a combination of both. We don't recommend specific providers for these courses, however many coaches choose to take them through the American Red Cross or the American Cancer Society. This online course meets our requirements.
If your CPR and/or First Aid expiration dates pass, your status as a Certified Coach changes to Not in Good Standing, your name is automatically removed from our public-facing Find a Coach list, you lose access to our Coaching Insurance program, and you lose access to the Certified Coaches Portal.
Once you update the CPR and First Aid information on your profile, your status, listing, and access will be restored. Please allow up to two hours for your updates to be reflected on our website.
Beginning January 1, 2023, you must also be an Individual Coach member of the RRCA to remain in Good Standing.
The required $25 Individual Coach membership to the RRCA:
-
Helps fund ongoing administrative needs for the Coaching Certification Program including technical support for Certified Coaches, oversight of the RRCA Certified Coaches Facebook group, Find a Coach marketing and promotion, and more.
- Helps us invest in continued improvements and enhancements of the program for both new and existing coaches.
-
Ensures RRCA Certified Coaches in Good Standing have an ongoing relationship with the organization following initial certification, and grants individual coaches the ongoing use of the RRCA Certified Coach logo and name for promotional purposes.
Follow the instructions in the section below to purchase your required Individual Coach membership and the optional Coaching Insurance policy.

Purchasing the Individual Coach Membership and Coaching Insurance Policy
|
|
Only Certified Coaches in Good Standing are eligible to purchase the required Individual Coach membership and optional Coaching Insurance policy. Review the section above about restoring your Good Standing status, if needed.
To purchase your membership and insurance, follow the login procedures above. Then:
-
If this is your first time purchasing an Individual Coach membership, click your name in the upper right corner and click Join RRCA as an Individual in the drop-down menu. If you have purchased an Individual Coach membership in the past, click the bell-shaped icon in the upper right corner and click Renew.
-
Select the Individual Coach membership type and click Next.
-
Acknowledge the Safe Sport, group run, and insurance guidelines and click Next.
-
Add the Certified Coach Liability Insurance policy on the following screen if desired. (Click Next if not.) Detailed information about the policy is housed in the Certified Coaches Portal.
-
Review the fee(s) and click Add to Cart.
-
Click Checkout.
-
Enter your payment information or select your saved payment method and click Checkout.
Important notes about membership and insurance:
-
Coaches must select the Individual Coach membership option, NOT the Individual Member option. Only the Individual Coach membership will give you the opportunity to purchase Coaching Insurance. If you don't see the Individual Coach option, please email coaching@rrca.org to review your profile setup. If you are the primary contact for a club or event, we may have to manually invoice you for your Individual Coach membership dues and Coaching Insurance policy.
-
Membership and insurance must be purchased at the same time. Our system does NOT allow you to purchase membership, then log back in later to purchase Coaching Insurance in a separate transaction. If you previously purchased membership and now wish to purchase insurance, please email coaching@rrca.org for assistance.
- Coaches who choose to purchase the Coaching Insurance policy are added to the group policy and a certificate of insurance will be emailed from Insurance Management Group (IMG) within 14 business days.
-
Membership is based on the calendar year and will be valid through December 31, 2023.

Coaching Scholarship Fund
|
|
The purpose of the Coaching Scholarship Fund is to provide financial support to organizations seeking to improve access to the RRCA’s Coaching Certification Program for people who are the most impacted by overlapping systems of discrimination.
Each year, the RRCA’s Coaching Scholarship Fund will support four or more organizations. These organizations will be selected through an application process. The selected organizations will identify and work with individual coaching candidates that will receive funded access to the RRCA Coaching Certification program.
To donate to the Coaching Scholarship Fund, visit RRCA.org/donate-to-rrca/. Donations made to the Coaching Scholarship Fund in 2023 will be matched up to $10,000 by a private foundation to support the launch and initial investment of $20,000 in coaching education.
