A Message from Rev. Maxted

RRCC members and friends--
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus the Christ.

With the rapid spread of the novel coronavirus, around the world and here in the U.S., I just wanted to reach out to you to let you know your church leadership is in the process of prayerfully considering the best responses we can make to this challenge.  Our Elders will meet on Sunday, and our Guiding Board will meet on Monday. This health concern will be an important agenda item during both meetings.

In the meantime, please note:
  • Special communications and cancellation notifications will be sent out via email (you will receive them the same way you receive our Tuesday newsletter and our Friday "Reminders.") Those without email will receive telephone calls and/or hard copy "snail mail" communications.
  • A large percentage of our RRCC worshipers--age 60 and older--are considered higher risk by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. But no matter what your age, do not feel pressured to attend worship or any other church-related event, even if you are scheduled to have some responsibility. If possible, let me or Gary Tucker (elders) or Jennifer Kienzle (deacons) know in advance if you know you'll be absent from worship.
  • Expect some changes in fellowship and worship. You will be discouraged from physical contact. Offering and communion will likely be altered.
  • Remember, by taking care of yourself, you're taking care of others. While being loving, be smart and careful. This is a serious situation, but, thanks be to God, it is temporary.
God remains good and God remains faithful at all times and in all places.
Peace in Christ,
Pastor Mitch

Hop Into Easter Organizational Meeting

Immediately following worship this Sunday, there will be a quick organizational and
brainstorming task force meeting. Bring your ideas or just your "bunny ears" to learn more about the event. In the meantime, LOTS of candy will be needed for the egg hunt. If you can bring a bag of individually wrapped small candies (or several!), please put them in the donation area in the Welcome Center.
(NOTE: no chocolate, please!).

Hop Into Easter is scheduled for Sat., April 4, from 9:30-11:00am.

RRCC Outdoor Beautification Project

Men, weather permitting, your help is needed this Saturday following our monthly breakfast. We plan to transplant the 3 "butterfly bushes" currently planted in the planter bed along the main pathway into the church to the 3 new planter boxes located on the east side of the Sanctuary building.

We will need 2 teams of approximately 3-4 men to make this a quick job but more importantly, to save backs by sharing the work load.
  • Team 1 will need to place supplied cardboard as a weed stop in the new planter boxes and dig holes for the bushes to be placed in.
  • Team 2 will need to trim the bushes back to approximately 4' high, place the trimmings in the trash dumpster and dig up the bush root balls.

Please bring shovels, trimming tools and gloves for the project.  If you have any questions, please contact Perry Mouser for more information.
