Youth Zoom Meeting

To provide an opportunity for youth to see each other and to feel more connected to RRUMC youth ministry we will be doing two Zoom sessions.

The Zoom session for High School is Sunday, April 26 @ 6:30-7:30.

The Zoom session for Middle School is Wednesday, April 22nd @ 6:00-7:00.

In order to protect the privacy of students, the Zoom meetings will be password locked, in order to receive the password you must fill out a very short form , please follow the link below.

Sunday Youth Video Messages

Until we are able to meet again, I, Steven Young, will be posting and sending out short video messages. The messages will be no more than 10 minutes long.

For the next several weeks I will be starting a series called That's My Story .

We will be looking at the stories of several people throughout the Bible who quite possibly have similar stories to our own. I'm really excited about this series and I hope everyone tunes in!

A link and a post on Facebook will be sent every Sunday Morning.

One Verse

In order to strengthen spiritual growth at home and apart, I will be releasing 2-3 minute videos called One Verse . In this very short video series I will briefly speak to one verse and discuss its impact in my life and the possible impact in the lives of others. Its a short fun little series to help spur spiritual growth.

High School Mission Trip Cancelled

The high school mission trip this year is to Milwaukee, Wisconsin has been cancelled.

Message from Next Step Ministries:

“This was not a decision that we came upon easily. We fought it as long as we could, but there came a point where we couldn’t ignore the sobering realities of this virus. It’s spreading and it will continue to spread for the foreseeable future. We refuse to be a part of the problem and put you or our communities in harm's way. While we are hopeful that the virus’s spread will diminish quickly, we are not confident that we could safely run summer trips with thousands of students in this current environment.”

This also means all fundraising for this years mission trip is cancelled. I’m still looking into possible alternative mission trips for a later time in the summer and close to home. I’m open to all ideas that students may have as well for alternative close to home trips.

Two-Week High School Senior Seminar

To all our high school seniors who are about to face the world head on this seminar is for you. Whether one is going to college or the work force or anything in between this course is to help prepare you for what is ahead.

Join us as we discuss topics such as :

- friendships and dating

- career and money management

- interpersonal conflict

- controlling anxiety

- recovering from addiction

- and discovering your purpose on this earth

Dates : May 11th and 18th from 7-8p

What: RRUMC Youth ministry is partnering with the City Mission for three days of work at Laura’s home.

Work Projects: We will be helping out with a day care, refurbishing homes, and serving on the mission grounds.

Post-project activities : At the end of each service day we will also being having a day of fun. Going to three different locations: Main Event, Swings-N-Things, and Play: Cle.

Dates: August 5-7th

Cost: 145 dollars

Grades: Those entering 6th grade to those leaving 8th Grade
