As we reflect on 2018, we would like to take this opportunity to thank our RSA community, staff, students and parents for a great school beginning. We ask Allah to continue guiding us as we work towards our goals and aspirations in providing a nurturing learning environment for our students. Below are just a few brief highlights from the past four months.
RSA's High School Debate Team brings home the Gavel!
RSA debaters participated in the High School Public Debate Program hosted by the Wilberforce School in Princeton, New Jersey on Saturday, December 15, 2018. Our team received 4th place overall team award; and Nuralhoda Elsaid received the gavel! The gavel signifies the highest overall speaker points among ALL PARTICIPATING debaters. There were 80+ debaters and among them Nur was our shining star!May Allah (swt) continue to bless, protect and guide our students, Ameen..
Special thanks go to Sr. Ahlam Yassin for coaching our students and empowering them with the tools and skills that mold them into great public speakers and debaters!

National Honor Society Oath

I pledge to be a strong student, achieving the most from my education; I pledge to demonstrate Responsibility, showing enthusiasm and working hard in all that I do; I pledge to learn the skills of leadership, practicing them in all aspects of my life; I pledge to be of Service to my school and community, showing that I care and be a role model for my peers, helping us all achieve our best. I pledge myself to uphold the high purposes of the National Honor Society to which I have been selected. I will be true to the principles for which it stands, I will be loyal to my school, and will maintain and encourage high standards of all four pillars: Scholarship,service, leadership and character.


RSA qualified candidates for the three chapters of the honor societies were inducted on Wednesday, December 19th for the 2018-2019 school year. Inductees have proven themselves to be high standards achievers not only in academics, but also in leadership, character and service. Our chapters advisers Sr. Tamam Musabeh and Sr. Aya Osman are commended for taking the lead in guiding our honor society members to maintain the high expectations as per the the oath they pledged.
Family Fun Night: Happy students, happy parents and happy staff!
MashaAllah, our Family Fun Night was a great success! The positive school spirit was very obvious as all staff, students and involved parents were working together for the same cause. Al-hamdulilah! Quran awards were distributed to all students who attended and trivia Islamic games were enjoyed by parents and students alike. Special thanks go to our Staff Members and High School students who volunteered and helped in preparing for this special night! Your dedication and sincere efforts are greatly appreciated!
Hour of Code: RSA Stars Shining with Technology
The  Hour of Code  takes place each year during Computer Science Education Week. The  2018 Computer Science Education Week was from December 3-9. RSA students from grades Kindergarten through 12th spent the 2018 computer science week applying the coding skills they learned to create different programs.

  • KG-4th graders: Let's dance: Students coded a Dance Party with drag -drop JavaScript blocks and then enjoyed dancing with the game!
  • 5th -8th graders: Python Programming Language: Students created their own basketball game in Python programming language.; they chose their teams, creating the game then enjoyed playing it.
  • 5th-8th graders: Star War game - Using Java Scirpt Programming Language, students built a Galaxy Star War game with JavaScript Code and then enjoyed playing it.
  • 9th-12th graders: App Lab - Application Lab: High school students designed an app, coded with JavaScript to make it work, then shared their app in seconds with each other.

High School Students Visit NJIT Physics Labs
This fall RSA students, from freshmans to juniors, got the opportunity to apply the physics laws learned in class using NJIT Physics lab's state of the art equipment. Under the supervision of NJIT Physics Professor Sung and Br. Ahmed, RSA students performed two major labs covering Newton's Laws of Motion and Projectiles.

Once again, RSA creative writers from across all grade levels combine their creative efforts to inform and entertain readers with their writing pieces. Special thanks to all seniors and juniors who led this project!
A Memorable School Color Run
Our annual Color Run was full of fun and color. RSA students, teachers, parents and family members enjoyed the run/walk in Van Suan Park on Sunday October 21st and ended their run with a colorful splash !

Anti-bullying Awareness at RSA
We are a Bully Free Zone! Two of our local Union City police officers took time out of their day to come speak to our young learners about anti-bullying strategies. Our students enjoyed the assembly and send a special thanks to the officers for helping us learn how to keep a safe school zone! 
Spiritual Lectures for RSA Middle and High School Students
Alhamdulilah, our Islamic Studies department is working diligently to invite key guest speakers to inspire our youth with different topics, ranging from how to to be a successful Muslim to how to be ready for the Day of Judgement.

NJIT Science Olympiad Tournament
January 8, 2019
Our middle school and high school science Olympiad teams will be joining the NJIT regional tournament. We wish them the best of luck.
Picture Day Retakes
January 10, 2019
Our school wide picture is scheduled for Thursday, January 10th. All students are requested to come in with their regular school uniform. Retakes can also be done this day.
K-8 MAP Winter Assessment
January 14- January 18, 2019
Students in KG-8th will be taking their Winter MAP Growth tests. Parents are requested to bring their children to school on time.
9th- 12th Midterms
January 16- January 23, 2019

High school students will be taking their midterms from Wednesday, January 16th through Wednesday, January 23rd. We will have a school-wide 12 PM dismissal during midterms week.
