Let's Continue to Lift One Another Up!

Math Adoption Team Update

The RSD math adoption team recently completed two ranking surveys to identify which math programs most members would like to pilot. Cory W. shared a brief summary of the results from both forms to help communicate the team’s preferences.

First Survey (17 responses):

The results showed a strong preference for Paradigm as the top choice.

  • Choice 1 (Top Choice): Paradigm received the majority of first-place votes (52.9%)
  • Choice 2: Thinking Math
  • Choice 3: Classroom Math

Second Survey (13 responses):

In the second survey, where staff ranked programs from most preferred to least preferred, Paradigm again emerged as the clear top choice.

  • Paradigm ranked #1 with 54% of responses.
  • Thinking Math and Envision (Savas) Math were tied for #2, each receiving 38% of the responses.

When the team came together to discuss and debrief the results, there was clear consensus that the team would most strongly like to pilot Paradigm and Thinking Math. Staff felt these two programs best aligned with our instructional goals and the type of mathematical thinking we want to develop with students. For a third pilot option, there was discussion between Envision (Savas) and Classroom Math, and at this time it appears to be a close decision between those two programs.

Overall, the survey data and staff discussions indicate that Paradigm and Thinking Math are the clear priorities for piloting, with Envision (Savas) and Classroom Math as possible additional options depending on availability.
