PRIORITY REGISTRATION FOR RSM STUDENTS IS NOW OPEN

RSM SoCal Region's Priority Registration for current students ONLY is open now.

RSM families can now take advantage of priority registration by choosing the day and time of their math classes, based on the individual class and level recommendations and before the available seats are released to the general public.

The individual class and level recommendations are sent out by your child's teacher.

Expect detailed information from your local branch.

START EARLY, LEARN DEEPLY.

AN INSIGHT INTO THE RSM ELEMENTARY PROGRAM

RSM's Elementary Program engages students' minds by guiding them to use logic, analysis, and deduction. This approach builds a deep and lasting mathematical fluency. Instead of memorizing new information, students learn to build new knowledge by connecting it to what they already understand, reinforcing their learning at every step. Watch the short video insight on our elementary program by RSM San Diego Principal, Dimitry Artamonov.

On March 20th, all RSM Southern California branches will host the Math Kangaroo competition. The detailed instructions about the competition will be shared by your local branch with all the registered students.

From April 6 to April 13, RSM Southern California Region will be hosting the Noetic Learning Math Contest (NMLC) spring session both online and in person. Emails with detailed instructions have been sent to the participating students' families.

For questions about the online contest, email us at regional.socal@russianschool.com

MINDS OF THE FUTURE

As part of the Russian School of Mathematics' "Minds of the Future" project, we are pleased to highlight RSM South Orange County student Douglas Zhang's incredible journey. Douglas joined RSM as a first grader in 2021. Since then he has demonstrated incredible commitment, care, and a strong love of learning. A fourth grader in his day school, Douglas has jumped to grade six honors in Algebra, grade seven honors in Geometry, and grade eight in Math Competition Preparation classes due to his hard work and dedication. Douglas won the IMC Gold Medal in 2024, received the AMC 8 and 10 honor roll of distinction, qualified for the AIME, and ultimately qualified for the United States of America Junior Mathematical Olympiad (USAJMO) in 2025.

Students must take the AMC 10/12 competition in order to be eligible for USAJMO. Once they have qualified for and passed the American Invitational Mathematics Examination (AIME), they may be able to participate in USAJMO. Only 150–230 kids out of 300,000 are eligible for this prestigious, rigorous challenge each year. Douglas, we are so proud of you!
