Receiving Sponsorship

There are multiple ways a sponsor may submit a donation. The preferred method is through UTSA Gift Services, as this allows donors to receive a tax deduction receipt and ensures proper tracking of all contributions by the university.

Option 1 (Recommended): Online Donation

  • Sponsors may submit donations online using the link below.
  • They should ensure they select the appropriate student organization (e.g., Advanced Robotics) under the “Gift Destination” section.
  • If your organization is not listed, please let the donor know to select "KCEID Student Success Center" and make us aware of the company and amount so we can later transfer the funds to the org's external bank account.
  • Funds submitted through this method are deposited directly into the organization’s UTSA cost center (if your org name is listed on the drop-down list) and may later be transferred to an external account if applicable.

Option 2: Check Submission

  • Sponsors may also submit donations via check. It is very important that checks are correctly addressed to ensure proper processing, as misdirected mail can cause significant delays in locating funds.
  • Please make sure checks are made out to the University of Texas at San Antonio and under the memo they write the name of your student organization (E.g., "SHPE")
  •  Recommended address info for companies sending checks:

Attn: Klesse Student Success Center – EB 3.04.04

                              YOUR STUDENT ORG NAME HERE

                              1 UTSA Circle

                              San Antonio, TX 78249

Option 3 (Not Recommended): Direct Deposit to External Account

  • Donors may choose to deposit funds directly into a student organization’s external bank account; however, this option is not recommended.
  • In most cases, donors prefer to receive a tax receipt, which can only be provided through UTSA Gift Services.
  • If a donor chooses this option, they must acknowledge they will not receive a tax deduction receipt.

Crowdfunding

Now accepting applications for the UT San Antonio Fall Crowdfunding Cohort.

The Fall Crowdfunding Cohort will be the only opportunity for groups to launch a crowdfunding project during the fall semester. Projects will launch together as part of a shared campaign period rather than on a rolling basis. This allows the Annual Giving team to provide focused support, training, coordinated promotion, and opportunities to earn additional funding through campaign incentives while helping groups build momentum toward their fundraising goals.

Campaign Incentives

Set a fundraising goal of at least $1,000 to take advantage of:

  • $250 added to your fund when you reach 40% of your goal by the end of the silent phase
  • $250 boost for the first 5 teams to reach 25 unique donors
  • $500 bonus for the first 2 groups to reach 100% of their cohort goal
  • Social media feature when you reach 50% of your goal by the end of the silent phase

Fall Cohort Timeline:

  • September 11 — Application & content due
  • September 14–25 — Campaign build-out & training
  • Virtual training will be available for all participating groups. Student organizations will also have the option to participate in an in-person training session.
  • October 5 — Silent Phase Begins
  • Your page goes live and you can begin receiving gifts from your network.
  • October 19 — Public Phase Begins
  • Your project will be featured on our crowdfunding site and promoted through Annual Giving email and social media.
  • October 30 — Campaign Ends

Why Join?

  • Nearly a month to raise funds instead of a single day
  • Personalized support, templates, and guidance
  • Coordinated promotion to help expand your reach
  • Opportunities to earn additional funding and visibility

Ready to Get Started?

If your group has a project or specific need you’d like to fund this fall, apply to join the Fall Crowdfunding Cohort by September 11.

We’re excited to help Roadrunner groups turn great ideas into opportunities this fall! If you have any questions do not hesitate to reach out.

  • For questions or assistance, please contact Alex Echeveste, Associate Director of Annual Giving, at Alex.Echeveste@utsa.edu

Sending Packages to the SSC

Always include your student org’s name in the address. Listing an officer’s or member’s name is not enough. The mail room let us know that if they ever receive packages addressed to students they will return them to the sender. If your package is addressed to a student and not an org, the mail room assumes it is personal mail and they will not accept it.

  •  Recommended address info to list as a reminder:

Attn: Klesse Student Success Center – EB 3.04.04

                               YOUR STUDENT ORG NAME HERE

                              1 UTSA Circle

                              San Antonio, TX 78249
