About:  Each year APAH collects new toys and gifts for children ages newborn-18 who call one of their 16 Arlington rental communities home. These gifts make up a holiday gift shop where parents can choose a gift for each of their children. About: Make the holidays brighter for children in need! The UCM Holiday Gift Room relies solely on the generosity of our community. Client families registered with our  UCM Stepping Stones program  can select gifts for their children (to age 15). Last year, donations of thousands of toys, books, and other gifts ensured a joy-filled holiday for 885 children in hundreds of families. Please bring all donations by Monday, Dec. 10. About: Burke Lake Park is hosting its fourth annual holiday event, Winter Wonderland, the first two weekends of December. We are seeking volunteers to assist in welcoming the holiday season by transforming Burke Lake Park in to a Winter Wonderland for all to enjoy! Click here to sign up! When: Friday, December 14 and Saturday, December 15
One Time Opportunity
 
About:  Join Volunteer Alexandria for their holiday toy distribution. On December 14 th , volunteers will sort donated toys to ready them for distribution the next day. The morning of December 15 th , volunteers will continue to ready the toys for distribution, and then in the afternoon, parents will choose toys that best fit their children. Volunteers will help guide parents through that process, restock tables with toys, and help wrap presents and engage children in activities. Please email mail@volunteeralexandria.org for more information.

About: Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, the mission to  Remember, Honor and Teach  is carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as over 1,100 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea, and abroad. About : The Hunter Mill District Winter Coat Closet is a program that distributes free hats, coats, gloves, and other winter gear that is run jointly by Cornerstones and the Hunter Mill District Supervisor’s Office. Volunteers help to accept and sort incoming donations, assist customers with selecting coats, and record all coats that are distributed. About : No one should go without a coat! Cornerstones, in partnership with the Hunter Mill District Supervisor’s Office, will once again be coordinating the Hunter Mill District Winter Coat Closet for 2018-2019. Donations of new or gently used clean coats and jackets for all ages (newborn to men’s 5X) and new hats, gloves, scarves and mittens are needed.
