Call to Action for Transportation Assistance
$25 for $2500!

RSVP is looking for 100 community members to donate $25 each to help the sick, the elderly, and those most vulnerable. Because of the overwhelming need, RSVP has issued a Call to Action to raise much needed funds to provide mileage reimbursement to volunteer drivers and fuel the vans that we use to transport the elderly, Veterans, and adults living with a disability who must get to the doctor, to dialysis, for grocery shopping, to pick up prescriptions and more. Many are homebound and can no longer see well enough to drive or have a medical condition that prohibits their ability to drive, Veterans need access to services and the VA, and elders living with a disability who desperately need the goods and services needed to maintain their independence with dignity.

In 2019 alone, RSVP volunteer drivers have assisted more than 1,000 people in Carson City and rural, frontier and wilderness areas of the state to provide a reduction of isolation and access the goods and services they so desperately need to live independently and avoid institutionalization.

March 21 is Nevada’s Big Give , a day for all Nevadans to pledge their support for their favorite cause and give where they live.

Donate Now through March 21 to help us reach our goal of $2,500 ! Visit: Call to Action. With your help we can continue our lifesaving mission to help frail, homebound seniors, Veterans and persons living with a disability in Nevada.

Thank you kindly for making a difference!

RSVP Welcomes Mackenzie Gonzalez as the Elko Transportation Field Rep

RSVP is thrilled to welcome Mackenzie Gonzales as the Elko Transportation Field Representative. Under this role, Mackenzie will recruit volunteers, identify clients in the community in need of assistance and match the needs of the clients with the volunteers available to assist them. She will also make client referrals and strengthen community partnerships.

Mackenzie also serves as the Mobility Manager for Elko County, which means she is one of our go-to people when it comes to finding a ride for wherever someone may need to go. She has been an Elko resident for many years, graduating from Elko High school. Prior to working for the County of Elko, she served as a dispatcher for the local bus system (Get My Ride). Through that position, Mackenzie learned more about seniors, disabled adults, and others in the community who both use and need transportation services.

Mackenzie can be reached at: elko@nvrsvp.com or 775-753-4060.
