RSVP Achieves Service Enterprise Certification

RSVP is pleased to announce that it has been certified by Points of Light, the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service, as a Service Enterprise! Achieving Service Enterprise certification is a prestigious accomplishment for an organization. Certification signifies that organizations have the capability and management expertise to strategically use volunteers to improve the performance of their organization. In fact, organizations that certify join the top 11 percent of nonprofits nationwide in volunteer management and organizational performance.
RSVP completed an extensive assessment, over 20 hours of training and coaching, and an extensive internal planning and change process to better integrate volunteers into our human capital strategy. By achieving this level of excellence and certification, RSVP is now better equipped to leverage the time and talent of volunteers and better meet our mission.

“The Service Enterprise (SEI) accreditation process was an eye-opening experience which allowed our organization to incorporate its institutional knowledge into everyday policies and procedures. This journey helped us with long-term sustainability and identify immediate needs. SEI gave us the opportunity to examine the systems and services our volunteers and staff work within, make adjustments, improvements, and document our progress along the way. Our organization is much stronger because of the SEI certification journey.”
-   Susan C. Haas, Executive Director & C.E.O., Nevada Rural
Counties RSVP Program Inc.
RSVP Volunteers donate countless hours of selfless service each year to improve the quality of life in our communities and ensure the health and independence of seniors and others in need. Living independently helps to retain the dignity and lifestyle of the individual. They are able to avoid costly and premature institutionalization in a long-term care facility at a cost that ranges between $82,125 and $94,969 annually in Nevada (AARP Long-Term Care Calculator, 2015). In 2018, the value of RSVP services for 95,286 hours of volunteer contribution was $2,405,399!

Research conducted by the TCC Group, a national program and evaluation firm, found that organizations operating as Service Enterprises outperform peer organizations on all aspects of organizational effectiveness, and are more adaptable, sustainable and capable of scaling their work.
The Service Enterprise program is a national change management program that helps organizations gain a greater return on volunteer investment to better achieve their mission. For more information regarding volunteer opportunities with our organization, please visit RSVP .
