RSVP Volunteers Make A Positive Impact
 
RSVP’s trained and valuable volunteers assist seniors and others in need to improve lives and address critical community needs in Nevada.

Volunteers deliver lifesaving services which include door-to-door transportation, companionship, respite care, caregiver relief, Farmer’s Market nutrition, housekeeping, personal emergency response systems, pro bono legal assistance, Veterans resources, and elder exercise programs. 

Additionally, RSVP volunteers provide a variety of services to Federal, State, local government and other non-profit service organizations and health care facilities. RSVP matches the talents of individuals with the needs of our community.
Farmer's Market Coupons Are Now Available

RSVP offers Farmer’s Market Coupons to ensure that low-income seniors, who may not be able to afford fresh produce have the opportunity to enjoy the bounty of the farmers markets. Our goal is to increase consumption of healthy, locally grown fruits, vegetables, fresh unprocessed herbs, and honey, which supplement the nutritional needs of elders in Nevada.
 
Distribution dates:

Tuesday, June 11, 11-2, Fernley Senior Center, 1170 W. Newlands Drive.
Thursday, June 13, 9-Noon, Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St.

July 4th Celebration & Carnival is Almost Here!

2019 is the 27 th year RSVP will host the July 4 th Celebration and Carnival in Mills Park. A Winner of the Carson City Chamber of Commerce 2016 Event of the Year - once again, we expect both local residents and the many visitors to our area to join us for live music, great food and craft vendors, and the excitement of carnival rides and games designed for all ages!

The event takes place at Mills Park and begins on Thursday, July 4 th and runs through Sunday, July 7 th .  All day carnival wristbands are $30 at the park. $5 Discount Coupons are available at the RSVP Beer booth.

A beautiful and thrilling fireworks display will take place at 9:30 pm on July 4 th , and RSVP is partnering with Cumulus Radio to carry the soundtrack over Wild 102.9. For more info. contact Anita Moreno, Fair Manager, 775-687-4680, x 7.

RSVP Welcomes James Glaser as the Veterans VIP Field Rep
 
We are pleased to welcome James Glaser as the new Veterans VIP Field Representative!  James will be based in the Carson City office and will be responsible for volunteer recruitment, client referrals, volunteer match; assisting veterans with referrals, paperwork and benefits; community outreach and fostering community partnerships.
 
For the past 2 years James has served as an RSVP volunteer driver, respite care volunteer, and Veterans advocate. In November 2018, James was the recipient of the Linda Carr Caregiver Award in the Caregiver for a Veteran category, and in February was named Veteran of the Month by the Nevada Dept. of Veterans Services.

Partner Spotlight!

RSVP and Carson Tahoe Health have been partnering for many years – going back to 1979.  Through RSVP’s Volunteer Stations Program, Hospital volunteers provide a variety of services to support the health and quality of life among patients, help with access to independent living programs, and ease their transition back into their homes.   

Over the past 12 months, 26 RSVP Station volunteers gave almost 4,200 hours of service at Carson Tahoe Health.
