RSVP Seeks Field Reps in Dayton and Hawthorne  

Join our team and help make a positive impact today! RSVP is looking for two Field Representative to help elders, veterans and caregivers in Dayton and Hawthorne with programs provided by volunteers which enable them to remain living independently, and in their own homes with dignity, such as transportation, Veterans services, respite care, personal emergency response systems and more. 

Duties include: leadership of program, collecting monthly timesheets, volunteer recruitment, client match and community outreach.  A commitment of approx. 10 hours per week is required. Monthly stipend, out of pocket expenses and mileage reimbursement provided.

RSVP Presents REST Trainings in Pahrump, Tonopah and Caliente

Anyone interested in providing respite – or short-term temporary relief – for caregivers in their community can attend the REST (Respite Education & Support Tools) training course presented by RSVP. REST Companions provide short breaks for caregivers, who are caring for individuals with disability or healthcare needs. To learn more go to: REST Program

Chili-Cook-Off Sunday July 29

RSVP is hosting the first Chili Cook-Off which will take place on Sunday, July 29, from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. at Fuji Park, 601 Old Clear Creek Rd. in Carson City. Tastings for visitors start at 1pm and last until 4pm, or until the chili is gone! Cost: $3 Chili Tasting for 5 Chili Samples.

Chili Cook-Off is held in conjunction with the fun and family-friendly Carson City FAIR which takes place July 25-29 in the beautiful and shady Fuji Park! Bring your kids for carnival rides, youth livestock exhibits, vendors, food, music, entertainment and MORE!

RSVP Hosts Carnival/Vendor Showcase at the Carson City FAIR

Come out and enjoy the fun, excitement and energy of carnival rides and games for all ages while visiting the Carson City FAIR! A variety of vendors will be showcasing jewelry, purses and clothing, home decorations, handcrafted pottery, airbrush art, face tattoos, and more!

All day carnival wristbands are $20.00 at the park. $5 Discount coupons for $5 Off toward the purchase of an all-day carnival ride wristband are available on-site at the RSVP beer booth. Cash Only Accepted.

Alzheimer’s Association Presents CarePRO

The Alzheimer's Association is offering a FREE five (5) week workshop for family caregivers providing care for an individual living with Alzheimer's or related dementia. Care Pro is designed to assist care givers with the tools needed to plan for the future and provide support and care throughout the disease process.

Veterans Resource Fair Coming in September!

RSVP and the RSVP Veterans Advisory Council will host a Veterans Resource Fair to provide veterans and their family caregivers with information on services and programs offered by area nonprofits, advisory groups, government agencies and the private sector. This is a great opportunity for Veterans to learn about valuable resources, and a chance to network with other veterans!

Single Family Housing Repair Loans & Grants Available to Seniors

The United States Dept. of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development is offering Single Family Housing Repair Loans & Grants. Also known as the Section 504 Home Repair program, this provides loans to very-low-income homeowners to repair, improve or modernize their homes, or grants to elderly very-low-income homeowners to remove health and safety hazards.
